I'd hit it.
Dude... it was hot and that outfit was... well really comfortable.
You'd hit darn near anything kev.
OK.
I'm going to chime in here. I've been conspicuously quiet about the SD gripes in this thread, as well as others because I'm in a rather unique position.
It's time to speak my piece:
I'm as frustrated by the lack of information as the rest of you.
AS A STREETDECK USER, I'm horrified by the lack of support for the product in the past several months. I have issues and questions that I would like resolutions or answers to.
I have Chuck on my IM list and have not seen him online at all in months.
I like to believe that he is holed up in the SD office pounding out code for SDv2 or possibly working on other projects that will find their way into SD somehow.
Considering the length of time Chuck has been incommunicado, this scenario is becoming harder and harder to believe.
Again, AS A STREETDECK USER, and at the risk of losing my position as a moderator on the forums, I'm appalled by the lack of information being provided to the user base, particularly when it has been requested repeatedly. There is no other way to describe it other than craptastic customer service.
Even worse is the announcement that there will be an announcement, then no followup. I have been waiting patiently, just like the rest of you for any shred of information or communication, only to be disappointed each passing day.
I have personally emailed Fiberoptic to alert him to the concerns of you all, specifically linking him to this thread, as well as others where users are upset at the poor customer service and, more significantly, the lack of communication. I received a similar response, that there would be an announcement made on the forums in short order.
AS A MODERATOR, I have to say that the complaints in this thread are known to the powers that be. I made certain that they are aware of the user complaints. I don't know if it's my role as moderator to make sure your voices are heard or not. If it's not my role, then I overstepped my boundaries.
Perhaps my role as moderator and my role 1as a SD user are crossing over into one another.
Oh well.
I have also offered my serives to StreetDeck as a support person on a part time basis, if nothing else to help alleviate the frustration of the user base, both via email and on the forums. I think I know enough about the systems y'all run and SD itself to be able to troubleshoot common stuff. I also have enough of a background in bug tracking and troubleshooting to be able to insure real software issues are addressed.
I'm sure it will come as no surprise to anyone that my response was...
NOTHING.
At this point, I really don't give a rat's fat happy patootie about what happens to me as a moderator, StreetDeck or anything else. While my intent is not to walk away from the forums or anything of that sort, I am completely washing my hands of StreetDeck.
If this were legacy software that wasn't being developed any further, I could possibly understand the lack of anything from the dev team. However, this is supposedly an actively developed piece of software.
How active? I don't know.
But at this point I question exactly how much development there is.
For me, it's time to start reading the RR FAQs.
I've got some catching up to do.![]()
Funny thing, I've been doing the same. I've also looked at CF, and while it looks great (and no, I don't want to start another debate on which is better), I refuse to give MP3car any more money for a front end, not after purchasing a supposed professionally developed front end, with professional and continuing support.
WOWDarque that was some statment, WHAT Caelric and Kalt (my hero) chimming in too. Honestly its beyond my comprehension what is going on with SD. Long time users like yourself, and others are already looking into or have gone to other front-ends. Yet still no relevant statement has been made at this point I feel SD has garned so much resentment among the most of its existing users. That no STATEMENT they can make will be adequate or even come close to repairing the sef inflicted damage SD has done to its reputation.
Okay now thats thats out the way I'll will keep saying this unitl SD punches me in the mouth. If your interested in jumping boat and going to RR I highly recommend the LSX Void skin, aesthetically pleasing and great functionality especially if you have a large music collection. Did I mention it can do transparent AVS visualization too![]()
