Thread: this is ridiculous

Jut spent the money for SD. Don't usually spend that kind of dough. It came with a 2006 version of map point software. The voice commands do not work like the add, nor does any of the other features. The cool part of the add was the voice activated music player. I stil can't get it to play on voice cmmand. The new update for the hybrid nav is pretty cool, but doesn't work all the time. Any idea on how to make it better? Is there any one who has an idea on how to upgrade the nav or music player?

Which ad are you refering to? Are you possibly refering to the YouTube post regarding the OneVoice, if this is so, it has not been implemented. Voice control is very limited as it was designed around the Windows 2000/XP Speech Control. The OneVoice addon (not availabe yet) was desgigned pretty much like the new vista voice control, basically you can teel it to make a coffe and it will.

No you cannont update map nav with anything newer as it was built around MP 2006, you can however learn to code create a mod and people on hear will pay you if you can get another nav system working. I assume the hybrid Nav is the Hybrid selection within Navigation module. You must have internet connection to have this update (and a good computer that can handle download and other things simultaneously) or use the GPS Cahce in Digital Mods and download offiline for places you frequent.

Hope this helps. Also this post is more of a newbie question that you could have started a new thread, as this thread is for people severly ****ed off (with SD) with a couple of hardcore SD/CF fans duking it out. So your post might get lost. Just a suggestion.

I don't like them coming here giving sales pitches. I don't like people coming in here saying that everyone has the same issues with streetdeck that they do when obviously, they don't speak for me.

Bottom line is, I support your right to like whatever you want or dislike whatever you want. I spent 10 years and gave up part of my right arm defending to the death your right to it. As a matter of fact, if you look back in this STREETDECK thread, you will see where I have told people they weren't mean enough to the streetdeck people.

However, when you cross that line into advertising exec for the competition, or spend days and days telling me my thoughts are wrong and I should change my mind, well, I'm going to call you on that and we're gonna have a nice little debate.

Edit: Not sure how many of my threads you are following, but when ANYONE mentions a specific issue with Streetdeck (or any frontend for that matter), If I can help in ANY way, I do. Even if I think I might be able to help, I do. But when you come in and just say "Streetdeck sucks, it crashed on me". How are any of us going to help??

To be honest with you, on a 45-46 page thread it is hard to follow all the various little subtexts going on over the course of a month or so. I have been coming in and out of here every few days and I caught one of the last parts of the last argument over CF, so I may be somewhat out of context. But your argument caught me off guard as a bit petulant. If that wasn't the intent then I apologize for my reading into things a bit too much (I tend to do that occasionally). Bottom line is I agree with you, it does nothing to help those of us who want to see StreetDeck/MP3Car get their act together and support us, when we have CF shills coming in here and taking things off topic. I am completely behind you with that. I'm just saying that in order to get what we want, we need to act somewhat professional about it.

We also need to keep the pressure on. FO came in to the forum three weeks ago and asked for a month before they tell us what is going on. I am still ticked off about that. I guess I am trying to figure out what happened to all the pi$$ and vinegar that generated some 41 pages of posts in this thread before his comment. Its kind of defeatist to let them off the hook with what he put in his statement.

Trust me my **** and vinegar is still there, but is like yelling at an empty house when the resident is in hiding or on long vacation. I am giving them one month (exactly) and then the venom will be spewed once again. Just sitting on my lawn chair letting the eggs spoil for a nice homecoming...if they come back, and that is...well at this point... doubtful.

Yea same I'm flummoxed. I purchased the lite version a year ago with my T3, since I am in NZ I have to use third party navigation so wasn't to bothered about it.

I thought I'd pop in cause I am ready to ditch my Nokia bluetooth carkit and thought the Streetdeck one should definitely be ready by now... And this is what I come to.. I
m quite ****ed the bluetooth isnt STILL ready, even aftermarket stereos have it NOW, Alpine, JVC etc....

I'm just glad that I went with Centrafuse. I didn't even know about all the BS going on with StreetDeck.
