Only thing I can think of is that they are trying to get as many customers that dont know the situation and milk them, then just drop SD and leave people wondering why.

A status thread is exactly that. I locked the thread. I am sorry if you have a problem with that, but that's the way it is. I made it a sticky at the request of some of the users of SD. I did not do it so the SD team (not mp3car.com) could blow off paying customers. If that is what you think then you are wrong.

Sad to see. I remember going to my first meet in Cali when all this SD stuff was just starting to develop. Wonder what happened.

I know that you are just a moderator here Meddler. All that most of us have been asking for over the past two months is a representative for US. Someone to go between the company and the users and voice our concerns and to let us know that they are being taken care of. Over the past three to four months we have had nothing of that sort. We have had ZERO support and almost ZERO news as to what is going on with our software. We have a really quiet company, which when they DO decide to post, leaves users more and more in the dark and less and less supported than they were before posting. The users feel like they are getting screwed and that the company just doesn't care.

Unfortunately for you Meddler, you work for/with MP3Car and the users are looking to you to fill the gap that the company has left between itself and its customers. Some very very very displeased customers. You may protest that you are not that voice, you are merely a moderator. However, seeing as how Chuck et. al. have gone completely silent towards us, and your prevalence on these boards, thats exactly the position that MP3Car, not the forum posters, have left you in.

We have been looking, begging, PLEADING for answers from MP3Car, only to be met with utter silence. We have grown very angry with them, and by proxy you. It's nothing personal mind you. It's business. And it is becoming increasingly apparent that whoever runs MP3Car.com, is not very good at business. These forums are not just for users to get help from each other and brag about their projects, though that is one of their primary purposes. But these forums MUST also be about the products (software and hardware) and their support or lack thereof from MP3Car.

At this point it seems like locking the Streetdeck Status thread was intended to censor this forum. I realize that you locked it because you felt that people were getting off topic. You were probably spending quite a bit of time deleting and cleaning up posts from that thread. However, I want you to ask yourself this very honest question: Who caused you to have to do that? Was it the fed up users? Was it the same very people who were in here clamouring for support for a product they spent hard earned money on? Or rather was it the company you moderate for, who has left their users out to dry? Was it the same company that has basically told the users of a product they SELL to screw off for over two months now?

I shouldn't have to answer that question. But I think someone over at the other end of this post should be utterly ashamed of themselves. And if they aren't then they don't have any scruples or morals whatsoever, and their parents should be ashamed of that.

Meddler does NOT work for or with Mp3Car. He is a moderator - an UNPAID VOLUNTEER.

I am sorry to disagree with you here. But if he is moderating a set of forums owned and operated by MP3Car, then he is working with them in some way shape or form. You can't split hairs about that. My point with the above post is that by moderating the posts in the manner that MP3Car sees fit (which he does as a volunteer moderator), he is helping them keep their customers at arms length.

To put it bluntly, if he did not moderate the forums in a manner that they approved of then they would not let him moderate them at all.

Volunteer or not Jan, he still works for and with MP3Car. He moderates the board on their behalf and at their instruction.
