My opinion is my own.
The only thing I'm praying for these days is that SD won't crash my system while I'm stuck in traffic.
We'll be right back after a word from our sponsor. Oh wait.... that won't happen for another month.![]()
LOL
The website shows 3 things....
1. They ARE working on the Aptera.
2. Chuck is still in the Streetdeck/MP3Car loop as he supposedly posted that picture.
3. Chuck hasn't set the clock on his computer in 2 years because there is no way in hell that aptera story was there in 2006.
Chuck ..... PROOFREAD when modifying a website!
My opinion is my own.
Sorry, but no.
In my understanding, Aptera dropped SD a long time ago. I wonder if they got their money back?
Uh, yeah, a picture dated 2006 means it's two years old. Read the news article - it's from SEMA 2006 - it's not a live picture, it really is from 11/3/2006.
Las Vegas, NV - The Vizualogic Media on Demand (VMOD(TM)) Entertainment System was named Best New Mobile Electronics Product today at the 2006 SEMA Show.
The picture on the website just showed up very recently......ON THE WEBSITE. There are laws about claiming something that is untrue. Especially if it is something being developed.
The point was about the website changing, not how old the pictures are. Keep up.
Edit: If you really want to know if "your understanding" is correct or not? Do one of two things......
1. Ask the gentleman that was on here making the skin that looked like an iphone what happened to his website? or...
2. Tell Aptera the picture is there and see if it gets removed.
Either the MP3 guys are total morons for putting it up there (which if it were true, why would they hold their cards so tight to their chests?), They have balls the size of mount rushmore and could care less what anyone thinks, or, my guess, your "understanding" is wrong.
My opinion is my own.
A bit more clarification.....
"Developed out of Carlsbad, CA, the Aptera is a fuel efficient vehicle that achieves 330 MPG which incorporates an aerodynamic and lightweight composite body structure. The Aptera features an in-vehicle computer that is powered by StreetDeck and Windows-Embedded Automotive and provides numerous capabilities. One of the key functions built-into StreetDeck as a DigitalMod with the Aptera was S.T.I.C. which is an acronym for suspension touch interface control. The software was designed to discretely monitor, position, and adjust the vehicle's ride height and angle of attack which is an integral aspect of attaining its fuel efficiency and ride quality. Images were taken courtesy of Michal Lebl. "
That one word would cost MP3Car their entire company if it is no longer true, REGARDLESS of the date on the picture. Aptera must approve for that picture to be used.
My opinion is my own.
Great, now we're talking about vaporware software on a vaporware car.
The picture has been on the Streetdeck website at least since before I bought Streetdeck back in December. I showed that picture to somebody I worked with who knows someone who worked on some of the carbon fiber parts for the Aptera prototypes back before Christmas.
IIt looks like the Wiki information about Streetdeck was added in October 2007 - that doesn't mean it's still true today. Streetdeck stopped updating in February - as of October, they were still going strong.

Wouldn't it just make a whole more sense if the pictures were two years old, instead of just being posted, being marked as being updated 2 years ago, and about an event that happened two years ago?!?
I also remember this news was there before I bought SD, and this was begin of 2007.
That little article has always been on the SD website. I also remeber seeing SD and the Aptera on the discovery channel in february of 2007
