Well, now, this is interesting. Pretty cheap too. Anyone want to be the ginea pig?

My opinion is my own.
Maybe, but it's only $10 more than the mic by itself.

Hi Daniel what's wrong with the andrea usb?
The stereo mic is good, but the usb sound adapter is crap? why?
I want a good not too expensive usb mic... any suggestions??
thanks,
Roland
In order to use the sound (echo) canceling capabilities of the andrea usb, it must be used as a sound card, meaning ALL your speakers/sound has to come from it. Not practicle at all. Maybe great in a voip atmosphere, but not a car. The mic by itself is a good stereo mic. I use it plugged into a standard mic in port and it works really well. I don't know anything about that new mini usb thing they are advertising, but if I didn't already have the mic, I would spend the $10 to test it.
The andrea usb advertised in the store works fine as a usb mic, but not worth $100. It just doesn't function as advertised. No REAL echo cancelation. The $44 unit would probably be perfect even if it doesn't have true echo cancelation if you need usb.
Edit: I stand corrected. They don't sell the USB version in the store. Tax/title/license through andrea works out to about $100.
My opinion is my own.
I'm not sure what this means.
Streetdeck is supposed to include voice support (which has never worked very well). Now, a third party company is selling a voice support module that seems to be in coordination with, but seperate from Streetdeck.
In a way, its good that at least somebody is doing some development work related to streetdeck. But I can't see how they could charge existing customers for a product that provides features that the base product is supposed to provide - unless maybe they're going to give existing customers the voice module for free, and then just ask that we provide bug reports.
I can just see it now - Streetdeck $199. Voice Support for streetdeck (that actually works) $29.99. Bluetooth support for Streetdeck (that was supposed to be in the original product) $99.99 (includes dongle). Traffic module $49.99...
my voice input in SD works close to flawlessly. perhaps your mic is the issue?
I'm looking forward to onevoice as it will allow the 'play artist' etc. which isn't included right now.
Fact is, I navigate the SD interface via voice 85% of the time and it works great.
