What is so different between NA and EU version? Only the maps.

If you are making any other differences please do not include the testmode warning with EU version, because there is no such law here. If you are already making a separate version i would expect proper char support for EU languages. Also, the speed symbol is more like km/h, not kph here

But if only maps are different, why cant you release them at the same time?

Please, do not ignore your EU customers.

I´m sure we (Europe-customer) can upgrade to V2 when it arrives.
Thing is we will not have navigation.
I cannot see nay reason that there will be a difference between NA and EU version other than navigatin.

it should just be the map data , the problem we have now in europe , is this , we have bought and waited for a new version of sd , now we dont know if the new version will support europe at all , i def am not happy with this

Good news for me, at least the status was finally addressed.

I hope SD will support displaying asian fonts/characters! ^_^

Chuck if what you say is true well then I am happy and that is all I am asking for. Is there any type of eta for this release? The POI's are huge for me

Sure we can. But than we have SD with NO bluetooth, and NO nav (POIs, traffic, ...)... All we have is a WMP with a different skin.

But why is there no EU version of v2? If the base product is the same, but only map data is different i really see no problem. At least give us US version, so we can use sat images to give us basic navigation.

If EU version is so much different from US, that you can not release it soon (heh, soon - as in coming soon), why not make it so it will be real EU version. Without stupid american laws (nav is ok to look at, but visualizations for ambient aren't - most basic sony radios have visualizations!), and why no EU language except English is supported in EU version? I am not talking about voice recognition, because i know that is much harder, but at least charset, so we can see the names of the songs, or streets.

Licensing navigation data is a very significant expense for us. We have to commit to shipping thousands of units for each region we want to license. Localization is also not currently supported and not trivial to add.

I would love to support Europe. The data I have seen suggests StreetDeck may be even more popular outside the US. It is a goal I would very much like to reach some day, but right now its just not possible to commit to.

BoomzBox is an MP3Car product. StreetDeck has support for the BETA version of the BoomzBox hardware and assuming MP3Car gives me the means to do so, will probably support it when it is released.

Dang, that means we really have to push the Visteon plugin. I know there is a pretty decent size group that refuses to do business with them.
