As a current CF user, I have a couple questions about the new Streetdeck. Currently, I don't use their navigation as it pretty much blows. I do, however, use CoPilot v9 for my navigation:
What navigation engine will SD be using (if you're allowed to announce this)?
Will you now be able to create a multi-stop itinerary or will it still only use the single destination mode?
If the driver can create a multi-stop itinerary, can locations be added as "waypoints" (such as specific highway intersections) that would be used to create the desired route, but not shown as a stop in the route?
Will you be able to import our own POI's?
Will you have the ability to search for POI's by it's location/city?
I'm assuming it will have different 2d/3d viewing modes. Can you list the ones available?
What routing modes will it have (shortest, quickest, major, etc)?
Will the new version support POI pop-ups to alert the driver of upcoming POI's from selected categories? If so, can the user define the alert distance for the popup? Also, can the driver simply add the alerted POI as a stop in the current route?
In CF, when the user adds an addon program, whether it's a plugin or an embedded application, the GUI allows the user to easily create, reorder or remove unneeded buttons from the main "screens" without requiring editing a skin. Is this possible in SD v2?
I'm sure this is more of a plugin than a built-in part of SDv2, but here goes:
In CoPilot, they have a feature called "Live". This Live feature allows the user to add people who can track them, based on the users current location. It also shows the users destination. The added people can go to a website and see where the user is. They can also send messages to the user. The user can then respond with either a multi-choice response (set up by the person "tracking" the user). CoPilot v11 also allows the user to type a return message with either an OSK or with a standard keyboard.
This feature, when it works, is great. Any chance of seeing something like this?
