We are working on this, but we haven't yet finalized our distribution infrastructure or pricing model. There will be some software only version. We have a large number of constraints we are trying to satisfy before we make this happen from figuring out how to release it without ****ing off too many mp3car users to just streamlining the download and support process. It will happen, hopefully within a month or so, but right now our priority is to make sure its released in a way that can work for everyone long term.Originally Posted by thrmaln

Hello God of CPU,
Thanks for the reply regarding the software.
On another note, I am working on the design to automate my map pocket on my Mazda 6 to house my Xenarc screen. I am a design engineer doing automation and robotics for a living, so it should not pose too much a problem. Anyway, I saw the solution you sell for the G35 and was curious why it is manual and not automated? Just curious if you attempted it before you came up with the manual solution? I dont have a G35, so I have never seen how it is done, but if I figure out the Mazda 6 automation, I may be able to modify my mechanism to work on other cars.
Just a thought,
Marc
from my understanding there is no room
Theres barely enough room for the screen, but even if there was enough, it would be too complicated to do for such a small production run item. I doubt it could be done without custom plastic which would be prohibitively expensive and after all is said and done, it has to install without being a custom job that would require special skills or cutting the stock parts. Actually making something that works is the easy part, making something that works in a way that other people can easily install it is where it gets complicated.Originally Posted by thrmaln

I am very familiar with how difficult it is to design something that can be assembled by anyone. You have to assume that evrybody understands instructions differently and given the chance of corrocect or not, they will always choose the latter.
I am in the same boat right now with the Mazda 6 design. I want to design an off the shelf carputer solution based on the Pandora since it is perfect for the mazda 6. However to do it, I need to fab sheetmetal mounts that mount to existing holes rather then adding any if possible. Hopefully in the end it will all work out.
Best regards,
Marc
