Well nomatter who you go to, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg. I know some custom audio shops around here will put anything you want in there if you give them the parts. My suggestion is find some small but not too small car audio shop and ask if they would be willing to fabricate the screen into the dash.

Then take the PC to a little machine shop and ask someone to build a mini case for you to screw into the mounting brackets in your car behind the console. Some internet sites will accept CAD drawings and your money and mail you a piece that you can just put together yourself.

Really though, doesn't that take the fun away???

Umm, better idea. Go over to G35driver.com and post a request in the Audio/Video section there. There are a lot of custom installers in CA that can probably do it for a reasonable rate. I would bet a lot of CA G35 coupes probably have the setup you want - they can give you a heads up of where to go.

That site also has plenty of step-by-step installs if you want to try it yourself. I did my install including audio/carPC/touchscreen (new amps, sub, all new wire - must've been over 20 new cables all together running from trunk to doors and headunit) for the first time ever installing anything in an automobile. And I have to say it was much easier than I thought. 4 weekends worth of work but fantastic results.

You can also get a package from the MP3Car.com store with StreetDeck made especially for your G35. The developer for StreetDeck owns a G35 so we G owners are all quite lucky - his other site is www.digitalwheelz.com. Check it out...

Why would you want to do anything to that?!
    It's beautiful as it is.
Seeing as how you have a screen already, just replace with a 7" and run the cable to the pc. Easiest in my opinion unless you want to chop up a nice dash.

first of all it is not touch screen and that will be very annyoing without it, and second, i am not sure that this is a screen you can connect to a pc... the control of the GPS now is extremely uncomfortable.

Like rcdash says, there will be a g35 edition coming out. At this time, there is even a stealth case custom designed to go into the spare wheel area of the trunk without losing the spare. www.digitalwheelz.com is the place to go.

As far as installers, should you not elect to do it yourself, I have heard that Sound Advice in Mission Viejo (i hope I remembered their name right) has a lot of g35 coupe installs under their belt. Check them out. Go to g35driver.com and spend a few hours in the audio/video section - there is an overwhelming amount of info there!

well, thanks for the installers name, but my question still stands, i don't really have a problem with where to put the actual computer the problem is with where to put the screen, or can i switch the original screen for a ouch screen.

    thanks
