    2006 map data upgrade

Any idea when the 2006 map data will be available for current streetdeck bundle owners? The roads have changed drastically in my homedown over the last couple years and it makes navigation spotty at best.

If you purchase and install mappoint 06, StreetDeck will work with it now. The upgrade should be available with the final release.

So I guess the question is, will your upgrade be cheaper than the retail version of 2006?

Yes it will indeed. It's what I'm running.
And there are some improved text-to-speech voices.. At least the default is better than anything in the Speech SDK.

The AT&T voices sound great with Mappoint (I use 2004). Though I have noticed on occasion that the verbiage is truncated and sometimes stops working for a few minutes; then sometimes comes back on its own. I know it's not the AT&T voice, cause it's tied to Girder events and continues to work fine. I will just get a "blip", but no voice directions for a few mins. Weird...
