Yes, you don't need girder though, just the drag the girder plugins into the input plugin folder of streetdeck and configure it.

Ok so not to be dense, but if I get the USB-UIRT, how do I program the SWI-X without a remote? Do I just get a cheap generic remote and use its codes to program it?

And second where do the girder plugins come from if I dont buy girder?

Download this plugin http://www.usbuirt.com/latestGirderPlugin.zip place it in the StreetDeck plugins\Input directory. In StreetDeck, goto Settings | General | Input | Input Plugins, select the USB UIRT plugin, enable it, select the function you want to bind to a button, when prompted, press the button on the remote you want to bind, save the settings. The button should now perform that function.

You need an IR remote to initially program with SWI-X. After it's programmed there is no need for it again.
