I just bought the thing. Love it.
However, I'd urgenty request that you build the ability to transfer the program. As often as we change hardware for our car Pc's around here, I worry that will really become an issue.
I'm already toying with an MB upgrade to support dual display...
My $.02 worth.
You can change your motherboard, you just have to keep the harddrive you registered for in the system. License transfer will be one of the first things to happen after we start shipping.Quote:

Can't wait to get home and start playing with the new Carputer I am going to install with some friends for fun, on my recently purchased 2005 Escape. I will be posting the project then for complete worklog. I intend to do the whole carputer install in one full day with my crew and take lots of good pictures for everyone to follow. Should be up the weekend of July 8th (Sunday). MacMini based. Fun stuff.
So this is a one time fee? just making sure. if you say yes then consider another copy sold. And it will be able to upgrade as new versions are released?
Yes it is a one time fee. It will never expire and all patches will be free. The version will be supported for at least year, or until the new version comes out, whichever is longer. There are a few feature updates still yet planned for this version that will be released for free, but after that there will be no more feature updates, just bug patches as needed. You will be able to add features through skins and DigitalMods though.Quote:

I like to test my Front Ends on my main computer and when everything looks good I move it to my car computer. What I think is a flaw with the registration with StreetDeck is I will have to buy two licenses for this ...... 149 x 2 or even later 199 x 2. I think that is kind of bull**** should be able to allow two installs per license!
I don’t even know anyone that has a car computer but me so the thought of giving out my license wouldn’t even work many people are the same.
You can alway run it development mode on your main computer. I dont think having one lincense for one computer is unreasonable considering the fact that most people would rather get a copied version than pay for the sofware. All i would like to see is a way to transfer my license just in case i upgrade or replace my HD, but i definatly think it was a good move on their part by tying regirstration to your Hardware code.
what happens if you format your hard drive can you still reinstall it to the same hard drive or will this also be an issue?
