    1) Is the GPS on COM5?
    2) Is there any other program open that could be using COM5?
    3) What COM port is the GPS setup to use in Streetdeck?

    When you're looking for help in troubleshooting something, "something like that" isn't going to be very helpful. Exact wording of error messages is necessary.
    Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

    Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

    Do you know what the connection parameters for that GPS are suppose to be?

    By default streetdeck connects to the GPS at:
    BuadRate = 4800
    ByteSize = 8
    Parity = None
    StopBits = 2
    Dsr Sensitivity = FALSE
    Dtr Control = Disabled
    No Flow Control

    If your GPS varies from this, it is probably the problem.
