    Feature Suggestion or How do I do it?

    I am officially a SD software purchaser as of a few days ago and I am definitely enjoying it. There are a couple of things I would like to see if it could do or be added so here goes;

    One of the things I liked about using frodoplayer is that when using the shuffle while playing MP3's the list display would change along with the song and that selection selected/highlighted. Though SD shows you whats playing on the bottom left the list of music displayed remains static. Is there any way to make SD do this? or a way to be added? The reason this feature would be nice is that if an artist came on that I suddenly felt in the mood to listen, I could just hit the artist or album button on the left without havng to scroll through the music to get to that artist/album. A couple of less clicks but it is also convenient say if a song comes on by a certain artist and you don't particularly want to listen to that song but would like to hear something else by that artist.

    Both while in the Music player and the XM, is there a way to make the bottom preset bar (xm) or the bottom next prev. bar (music) hide. Obviously hitting the hide button makes it go away but if it could autohide much in the way windows start menu does it would be great because the info on the bottom could be displayed with one click less. Sounds lazy but it would be a nice feature.

    Thanks for listening and keep up the good work.

    StreetDeck does do this, you have to scroll through the list once. StreetDeck doesn't load all the names of the current playlist until you scroll through them so it doesn't know where in the playlist the current song is. This is done so that loading a 10,000+ song playlist doesn't take forever. We may try to load the list in the background in teh future.

    Autohiding some more of the overlays is something that is also on the to-do list, I don't know when it will get implemented though.

    Thanks GOC, that was the reason for my title as I was not sure if it did this already. Good stuff.

    Can't wait to get the map disk, when is that shipping out? On time?

    Thanks,

    Oh that reminds me....this 'scrolling through the list once' thing....I did that the other day and it definitely works. But it seems like it forgets after hibernation. When I get back from hibernation, it's back to the old way again, until I repeat the 'scroll through the list' process. Kind of a pain to do this after every hibernate.....am I doing something wrong here, or is this as designed?

    When coming out of hibernate, StreetDeck reloads everything from scratch.

    Ah, that settles that. Can I assume it's the same for stand-by as well?

    How about adding an option to "Always Pre-load All Song Names When Loading a Playlist". Seems like a simple enough solution. I'm guessing a lot of us aren't using 10,000 song playlists anyways. It's a pain in the butt to have to re-scroll through my whole playlist every time I turn my car on if I want the current song to be highlighted.

    On my system standby works just like it did before shutting the car off, you do not have to scroll through the song list, it just continues to work.

    As of 1.0.4.8 the playlist will background load based on your frame rate. The list will only continue to load while its visible (In other words, you must be in CMusicModule).

    i.e. If you have a 10 fps limit it will load 10*10 = 100 items per second if you have a frame rate of 30 fps it will load 30*30 = 900 items per second until all the items are loaded. This will happen in the background so everything except song highlighting will work, song highlighting will work after the current song is loaded.

    Just updated to 1.0.4.9 and the background loading works perfectly. I have about 2000 mp3's and it takes about a second to load, very nice. And not only did you add that but you also modifed the bottom bar to disappear, I absolutely love it.

    Nice work GOC. I seen a rave in another thread about this software being the best and I've got to agree. SD is taking the in car computer from geeks only to the masses, if it catches on I can see some big stuff happening for you guys.
