Help a noob set up a good system

Hey all just wondering if some of you would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I've been browsing the forums for a while now and have decided to go with the streetdeck software for my carputer install in my 2006 EVO IX. My only problem is this, I'm not a PC person. I've grown up on Macs and I toyed with the idea of a Mac mini install but decided that it would be much easier to just go with the tried and true PC setup. I want to run all the usual, ie nav/sat radio/loads of music/movies internet etc etc. In addition I will be running aftermarket ECU software to change my ECU maps on the go, ie valet map or a race gas map or pump gas map etc. Can somebody recommend the basic specs for an appropriate computer to support this? I want something fast and reliable with room for future upgrades. I also don't want to skimp on sound quality. Thanks for your help

The CPU that comes bundled with the Streetdeck package is a sweet setup. Probably the most usb ports you'll find in a car pc and 2 pci slots for expandability. I'd recommend that if there is room in your trunk/tire storage for it - I have no idea how much it costs without the bundle. This worked nicely for me, but I didn't install it myself... I had Car Toys do it so I didn't have to mess with it. I also got a top of the line 4-Channel JBL amp and Infinity reference speakers all around to put the icing on the cake

It is the clearest sound you can get (oh yeah, and I threw the latest sound blaster pci card into it to ensure good sound quality). The car pc is a p4 1.6 I think? Maybe a 1.8, but it's got plenty of power +512megs of ram...

I pretty much had no idea when it came to the car sound crap, I pretty much had Car Toys pick out the best and it really hit the spot - The only thing I knew was that the amplifier glows a pretty blue color underneath the passenger seat - HA!

-On a sidenote, if you are looking for the bass sound, I'm not the one to talk to... I went with the hard and controlled bass with sound clarity over the reverberation

If you have the cash and are looking to add something invaluable to your system, I would get the Transflective screen when they get it in. I'd have one now if it weren't for the fact that I'm moving and need to save the cash for new furniture and what not:

They don't have any in at the moment, but from the video, these things are what every car pc should have (unless you feel like insanely tinting your windows like I did)
