    Real-Time Traffic Information?

Hey guys, I was wondering if real-time traffic information will be available in any future StreetDeck releases. Also, would it be in the form of alerts, or would the data be superimposed ontop of the existing GPS image? Thanks.

I can not confirm or deny that we are working on anything traffic related at this time, but I will say, you might be interested in attending SEMA this year.

That almost sounds like a tongue-in-cheek confirmation.

I'm coming back with TMC support (it was already discussed in another thread), which is widely used here in Europe from BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Peugeot, Renault, ... it would be really nice to have it and it is FREE !! This would greatly enhance Streetdeck navigation feature. And as far as I know, it would be possible to get those informations with HQTC radio module thru its RDS support.

Chuck said RDS Support->#4 that he would implement a more accurate solution in future. More accurate this can be but you will probably need an internet connection. So FREE against internet connection solution I would prefer the FREE solution and it is quite a standard here... I do not know the situation in US sorry...

unrelated to ST, but traffic related. has anyone installed GoogleMaps Mobile? www.google.com/gmm/ i installed it on my phoen to find the basic google maps features, but something i didn't expect was traffic information. it places a traffic overlay on the map showing green for traffic moving well and red for moving poorly. pretty neat.

yeah - great - just what we need - people in traffic checking their phones to see how the traffic is so they can cause more traffic when they cause a wreck from being on their phones....

Word of advice... stay away from the cheap hot dogs at the Westward Ho. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
