StreetDeck does not use WinAmp. StreetDeck uses Windows Media Player.
Part of the reason for this is that Windows media player takes care of the issues on protected MP3s.

    Thank you.

So is there a way to change/add/replace the different vizualization modules (milk files)?

I havent used it yet. I'm still liking how everything is. I dont need to watch DVDs, if I do, I got dvd programs. I dont use GPS, I have net. LOL. So, I dont need it all combined. Winamp is fine for me.

I don't think so, but I'm not the authority, either.
Frankly, pretty visualizations should be low-priority. While aesthetics are important, particularly for show cars, functionality and usability are far more important.

Also, Milkdrop visualizations tend to be heavy on 3D graphics and CPU utilization. Since the 'typical' vehicle PC tends to be low on CPU horsepower, implementing anything as processing-intensive as that would be lost on many users.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Actually your wrong milkdrop if any is one of the fastest running visuals there is out there. Also the resoultion most of these computers are running is much lower and if you windowed down a visual to a 320x240 image it would run even better.... My machine can handle it and I know it wouldn't take much to add it.

    From Chuck:

You can disable it in application colors or change the streetdeck.milk file in program files\streetdeck for any other milkdrop preset files. It was not intended to be changed though some other preset files may crash it.

    Thanks for the cofirmation.

This is exactly what I have been trying to do. However so far I tried close to 37 milk files and have not found the one that works. It closes SD on the startup screen.

Any advice on how to pick the working milk file or how to create on from scratch?

    TIA

I cannot help you with creating a milk file.

If it crashes, then it may not work. As Chuck noted in his response that I copied above...it's not designed to do this so it might crash.
