Hey i'm curious CPU, are you guys looking into preppin' SD for Vista. I had the nightmare of installing a fresh copy of Vista in my car and i got nothing to work. Not the touchscreen, the wi-fi, the blutooth, the GPS. It was such a let down =

Ok, just finished reading the rest of the above list. got question:

what the heck is "Added GPS broadcasting and recieving to send / recieve GPS data from other streetdecks" about?

That is, assuming I read it correctly.

I don't think that SD is going to accept the liability if they do such a thing.
You're just going to have to deal with it, I believe.

Seriously... There's far too much whining about "I can't do this" and "I can't do that" because of the safety restrictions. You obviously don't understand the reasoning behind this decision, so let me spell it out for you:

If there were no restrictions on what you could do while driving, then someone would get into an accident while performing some function in StreetDeck and get seriously hurt or killed. Then there would be a lawsuit, and a jury would find StreetDeck liable. They would go broke, and the development of the software would cease. It's also very possible that the forums would get closed because the lawsuit would drain all resources, including the ability to host these forums.
It would also devastate this community and this hobby in general. You could expect to see legislation passed that would outlaw PCs in your vehicles, so your GPS navigation system and huge music library that you're using would be criminal.

Is it inconvenient? Sure, it is.
I'd rather have a legal setup that's inconvenient than an illegal one regardless of convenience level.
thanks for spelling that out - really...
