    Song Sorting

    Hey guys,

I know there have been some other postings about this (like Question on Playlist/Queues ) but none of them seemed to me to be resolved. Anyway, when I go to "select music > by album > {album name}", it pulls up the album, with the first song in the album selected, but they're in alphabetical order. Now, all my files have filenames like "01 - The first track in the albumb", so that if they're ordered alphabetically by file name, it will play in the order that the show up on the album. However, SD seems to be extracting the song titles from all the songs, and then playing them in alphabetical order. All I want it to do is play the songs in the order of the little numbers at the start of the file names. Why can't it do that?

Also, whenever I turn off the car, SD closes, and then Windows forgets that its supposed to shut itself down / hibernate (I've tried both options in the control panel). However, if SD wasn't running to begin with, Windows does that it's supposed to. Why does Windows forget forget to shut down if SD had been running? I have the newest SD version that just came out.

i was wondering the same, why is everything in alphabetical order instead of file order??

Like I can't STANDDD how I can select by artist->then by album->then have songs in file order(aka in the correct numbered order)?? this seems so elementary to me, isn't it how every mp3 player organizes your music???

Yes, that was my post originally, and I haven't seen a work-around. I'm glad I'm not that only one who is annoyed by this feature. My problem is slightly different than yours, but I guess the priciples are similar.

I don't understand why if I use Queue mode, I can load my playlists in the order that I saved them, but if I am in NON-Queue mode, then the contents of the playlist are loaded in alphabetical order! I'm repeating my rant, but honestly, it makes no sense to listen to an "Album" in an incorrect order, ESPECIALLY since for many new albums, one track fades/transitions to the next. It just makes it sound messed up. My only "work-around" is to load the playlist in Queue mode, but the problem with this is you can't repeat a track or go back and listen to it since it automatically deletes!

Solution: If the SD guys can come up with an option to load playlists in the order they were saved (in non-Queue mode), my needs would be satisfied. I don't see this being very difficult to do, so if you guys can do it, that would be great!

I was annoyed by this until I started searching for music using the directory mode. That runs them in the proper order.

Really? Is that for playlists or loading files that start with a number?

Just for looking through my Music (indexed) folder. I haven't messed around with playlists yet. SD displays the actual song titles without the numbers for "known" albums.
