I see that streetdeck has a function that say Auto Save setting (instant off HORM)
What does this setting do and how does it work. When using ewf no setting get save just only when you use horm is when it bypass ewf. But what happen if i did a cold boot all those setting disappear. Please justify this function so I can better understand it.
Auto save settings should automatically save all settings every X seconds. When StreetDeck resumes from hibernation it will always restore its state based on the settings file regardless of what state it hibernated in.
If you setup HORM, you should change all streetdeck media paths to a writable drive, particularly the application data path where all the settings are stored. You can only use this if you have two partitions setup, one under EWF and one not. If you do this properly, you should be able to just cut power to your system and it will restore to whenever the last time it saved the settings.

Just the application data files (and I think you'd want all the media paths on the writable drive). I tried this and it works, but decided to abandon it because resume from hibernate is slow on my hardware (using standby mode now).
I dont think you have to use HORM on your sytem at all. Just being able to move the application data path to another drive on your system is great. I dotn want my EWF drive touch. Too bad I didnt look at this earlier within streetdeck just notice it yesterday.Quote:

I have the following setup:
CF Card 4Gb partitioned in two Partitions C: and D:
C: is EWF Enabled
D: is non EWF Enabled (writible)
StreetDeck is installed on to C:\ProgramFiles\...........
All Media Path changed to D: drive which is writible. I did copy the folder StreedDeck from C:\MyDocuments\............\User\StreetDeck on to D:\Streetdeck and change appropriate setting in SD for that.
StreetDeck starts perfect BUT !!!
I decided that since I changed media path and config path to drive D: and now all my settings are on drive D: I could just remove the folder StreetDeck under C:\MyDocuments\.......\User\.
I did remove it and commit my changes EWFMGR C: -commit.
Now after I reboot the system and tried to strat StreetDeck it froze at Applying Sounds and I had to kill the process in task manager. After doing this I found that StreetDeck created the folder StreetDek under C:\MyDocuments\....\User
When I strated StreetDeck again it start to work normally.
My question is: Why StreetDeck trying to create something uder MyDocuments folder when Media Path and StreetDeck Settings path are pointed to Drive D: ??? Is it a bug in SD or this is the way it works and in despite that I chage path to D: for Settings it still must have folder StreetDeck under C:\My Documents ???
