    Nav questions

I just updated to the latest version of SD and noticed a change...

Now, when I use the nav module without the GPS plugged in and out of my car, I can no longer select any of the buttons via the keyboard, but can still select them with the mouse. This occurs whether or not I am running in -testmode. Is this expected behavior/change from previous versions?

Also, will selection of letter/numbers by the keyboard arrows in the Nav module be enabled soon? I read a post requesting that feature from July of 2006, and GOC commented that it was being implmented. I noticed that in other areas of the Nav module, like POI, the letters are arrow-selectable...

    Thanks!

    Clarification:

While I can freely change the focus between the "Create Route", "Zoom", "Change perpective", and "GPS info" buttons using the keyboard, pressing enter with the focus on any of those buttons results in no action and causes the highlight to bounce back to one of the center two buttons. Clicking on the same buttons with the mouse works as expected.

why is it that the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) always shows something around 12:01 AM. Let's assume the current time is 10:00 AM and the route takes 30 minutes to complete then I would expect a ETA 10:30 AM. Or did I miss something?

what does this mean?! sorry newbie here.

okay the following i found with navigation here in europe after using sd for 3 weeks now.

    1. ETA means "Exptected Time of Arrival" that is a time value (hours and minutes) not a duration. in my installation it always shows something around 12:01 or 12:03 pm which definitely can not be (travelling back from work to home at 6 pm)

    2. "Time to Destination" should tell you the approx. travelling time, shouldn't it? I remarked a strange behaviour. If e.g. "Distance to Destination is 40 km" how can it be that "Time to Destination" is below 20 minutes (e.g. 19). In other words this means that in one hour I would travel more than 120 km. This also means that my current speed is above 120 km/h (or exactly 120 k m/h if duration would be 20 min. My tacho showed me 100 km/h insated (s we can exclude slight differences from tacho and gps).

i have the impression the routing algorithm need some reworking. We do not have roads here where you are allowed to drive above 120 km/h. The speed limit on highways is 120 km/h. (and in this example route there were plenty of streets with 80 or 100 limit). So how can it be that the routing algorithm is calcuating "Time to Destination" with routes above 120?!?!

i know iGuidance is doing a good (quite precise) job here. It also shows you when your current speed is above the road's speed limit .

btw the same applies for miles per hour. or is there some mile/km conversion problem in the formulas (wrong dividers, multiplying instead dividing etc.?!)

so please, please, please do some rework on navigation. navigation is a main thing in a car pc (besides audio) and needs to be 100% working. i have the feeling that streetdeck needs some major improvement here. at least check your formulas calculating dinstances, durations etc. the information shown is more missleading than helpful.

all the rest are "nice to haves".

please answer on this! your calculations for eta etc. are completey wrong.

this software is useless if it cannot do the navigation part correctly. don't need skinnig and lot of other nice to have features if the main functionality of a carpc-frontend (navigation and music) is not reliable.

It means he's adding a post that will bring this thread to the top (a 'bump') of the list of threads w/ new posts.
The logic is that someone will be more likely to see this thread, read his question and get an answer.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
