Can't configure my ADS mini USB TV.

    Hello everyone,

I have purchased a ADS mini TV USB, installed it on the laptop and all is working. However when I tried to access it via StreetDesck's TV button, I got an error: "Could not initialize TV HW..."

I tried to find the wizard, or config file, or anything that would allow me to specify the hardware - no luck. I ran SD in debug mode and saw it trying to use ATI Radeon 9600 or something like that when I click on TV button. Also I was able in settings for the Backup Camera select this mini TV USB and it works as a Backup Camera. I have upgraded to the latest SD version.

Please help me, I know it's something stupid I'm missing.

    Thank you.

    Unhappy

I am now testing the ADS InstantFM Music USB device and having a similar problem. It works with it's software, but StreetDeck doesnt' see it or I am not configuring it right. Radio has a wizard/settings page, unlike TV, and I tried different combinations. With some it does nothing with others it just kicks me out of Street Deck. This ADS Instant FM does not get a com port assigned, in the Device Manager under the properties/Location is: Location 0 (ADS InstantFM Music).

I saw some posts regarding ADS FM but all positive and working.

Is there a published list of 100% supported devices? where?

    PLEASE help me.

Thank you very much for the response. Yes I saw that thread and actually read all 13 pages, but maybe not carefull enough. I don't recall seing any links to the new ADS Instant FM drivers.

I read a lot about siLabs and how everyone was trying to buy it and there was a custom DLL that worked with Radiator.

Could you please point me to the page/post with the driver links?

    Thanks again.

Forgive me for being a noob to this, but how can I use that zip file's content to make Street Deck work with my ADS InstantFM device?

If I am not mistaken this zip is a source code and the compiled DLL for the C++ application that is a custom front end / test application for the silabs USB FM device. I saw someone said that silabs was actually manufacturing this device for the ADS, but how accurate is that? Again I'm sorry if I am being stupid, but I did not see any drivers in that zip package.

Thanks again for all your help.

So I spoke with the SiLabs H/W Engineer and got the following info:

    1. There is no way to make that series of USB FM Tuners to work via VCP (Virtual Com Port).
    2. The device only communicates via Human Interface Device and USB Audio Device.
    3. Both Devices above are using Microsoft built-in drivers, and SiLabs has no special drivers for the device.
    4. The device does not and can not have the UARP to VCP bridge due to the large amount of data that it streams to the sound card (unlike USB GPS antenas, etc.).

    What do you gyus think?

I really like Street Deck, but ... this FM tuner worked with CentraFuse out of the box. I don't know what to do. Please help.

So you're going to shun a good software product because it doesn't support a specific TV tuner?
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

    WOOT?!?!?!

No way man, I am returning this pos TV unit. I will wait for SD to certify/develop the TV functionality. (I hope they get to it soon).

But as far as radio I saw the other post where SD developers got the unit and are working on it. Again I hope it happens soon.
