Not sure on the cloning if it will work...guessing yes if its already activated, but streetdeck may check your hardware code everytime you startup, but all it takes is an email to support to get a new code when you change your hardware. I successfully changed out my hardrive as soon as I got my T3 to an 80gb with no issues. I have also used a number of external drives without issue.

StreetDeck's registration is tied to the physical HDD.
So no, the cloning would not work.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

    Question Hard drive space?

Okay, it sounds like the best way for me to go is to buy the whole package and clone the disk to a larger drive.

Is reregistering any big deal? If I clone to a new disk, will I just need to get a new activation code from StreetDeck and enter it, or will anything be fundamentally broken?

Also, is the interface for the hard drive ATA or SATA?

Thanks very much for all the answers.

Thanks very much for all the info. I'll contact StreetDeck to verify whether and how cloning and reregistering would work.

One last question. Is the hard drive interface ATA or SATA?

    Thanks again.

    What about RAM?

    Can it be upgraded?

Yes...but you only have one memory slot(despite what has been advertised). On my infill their was a solder joint for an additional memory slot, but it wasn't installed on the system board. I removed the existing 512mb and replaced with a single 1gb pc 2700.

    memory upgrade and more?

Is the memory located under the dvd drive? I dont want to take much apart?

Also, I see that the MB896 motherboard specs on Ibase website says it will take a 2.26 Ghz 400/533 Mhz Pentium M processor. Can this be upgraded?

Will the MB accept this HD:
    Seagate ST9160821A-RK 160GB 5400 RPM ATA-6 Notebook Hard Drive

    Thanks,
    Joel

The memory is on the very bottom board...so you will have to remove the dvd/hardrive board first and its underneath the next board.

The hardrive will work. Not sure on upgrading the processor, I didnt remove the heatsink, but that is easier to get to then the memory.

Just remember, on mine there was only one memory slot so you would have to remove the current one to upgrade. This is the case with the infill I got from mp3 car...it may be different if you got the unit from somewhere else as there is a solder joint for another memory slot, but it wasnt installed.

    Hello,

I just installed my Infill T3 few days ago and was searching for help with some issues I had with my unit. I ran across this post about the memory upgrade. I opened my unit and was thinking of HD and RAM upgrade but noticed there were tons of tiny wires on the board. So I aborted my attempt. But now I know that it can be done, did you have to remove all the tiny pin connectors on the board?
