Bump?
You might want to hit up the hardware forum with those questions since the faq's dont get hits from too many people that have answers, just questions.
Well I'm finally getting around to hooking up my SWC. I'm using god of cpu's method but right now I can't get the CPU to recognize that a controller is hooked up to the gameport so I'll have to see if I have a problem in my wiring.
Well it seems that a gameport is not going to work for my computer. I bought a PCI card that has a gameport but it seems that it will not work.
But, I found a thread (http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/inpu...-controls.html)
where people used a USB controller and tapped into the analog stick so thats my next attempt
i have a accord 03 lx and i want to purchase the volume control swicht does anybody knows if theres a plug or no
Sorry guys, I got distracted by a few things. First I had a mobo failure that I'm only now recovering from and I've had one of my front speakers to die, and I also let another microcontroller project grab my attention.
I am putting this on my list though, so hopefully I'll have a test unit ready by the end of the year.
On the note of things that got me distracted, I built a digital speedometer using a microcontroller. I can build it with an LED or LCD screen and it interfaces with the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) The program can be written for whatever size of tire/axle ratio/VSS/whatever.
I'm not sure if anybody has any use for one, but if so, let me know.
BTW cao2128,
I don't understand, maybe you could clarify your question?
3. Tapping into your car's system bus. Some cars have an electronics bus that you can tap a device into that will receive/transmit signals generated by the switching circuitry and convert them into serial port messages that your computer can understand. This allows you to make the car controls your interface to the PC. The BMW is such a car and here is a thread describing how to connect to the I-Bus in the car.

Anybody has done such way in CAN-Bus car? for example, BMW 3 Series E90.
