I use 12 Volt Resource - they charge $20 for a CD that has wiring diagrams for every car or truck from like 1980 to 2006 and each year they release a new CD that covers all the new vehicles for that year. They only charge $10 to get the new one if you have an older copy. It's an awesome deal.

For Toyota owners, this is what I use: techinfo.toyota.com

It lists ALL the toyota and lexus electrical and mechanical diagrams + repair manual. All for $10/day...just copy and save everything for a couple of hours and you get your money's worth

Ya I own this. Picked it up on ebay. It perfect. Gives all the colors and some great tips. Its designed for basic audio installation and also for alarm installation.

As much as British cars are in the shop don't they print the diagrams and repair manuals in the local paper there?

All these sites are great. But I have just one, stupid question.

How do you get to all these multi-colored wires? Where is the magic place in the car?

I know its car-specific. But point me in the right direction.

It depends which wire and where. Some are in the dash, some are in the column, some in the engine compartment.

The site I use tells you where the wire is located along with the color. When I get home I will get the site and post it. It is one I got from here I believe, but I do not think it was from this thread.
