How do I wire up the switch to simulate turning the car on and off?
Can someone post a detailed pic?
I saw Vlads, and sorta understand it, but I'm not sure what terminal I connect the white wire off the M2-ATX to and then what wire I tap into off the the ATX PSU.
Any help would be appreciated.
I used a momentary switch from a PC. The switch has three pins. One is four voltage in, one for voltage out and one for ground, I'm pretty sure. Since this is in-line with the power, you don't need a ground wired up. You're just using this as a simple switch to close the connection on a +12v line.

i used my trunk switch for a push button for the opus. Gotta use a key now to open my trunk. When i build a new clear case for my rig i'll return the trunk button to its original use and install a new momentary switch.
What am I doing wrong?
I've got a Rosewill 400Watt PSU that I'm trying to use to power the M4-ATX.
I've got a male molex hacked into my "ignition" switch.
It has 12V, Accessory, and Ground.
I tried running it several different ways I could think of but in no scenario would it start the computer up.
The D2 light will blink when the desktop PSU is on, which from what I've learned is that this is the "standby" light.
The light on the switch will come on when I flip it on, the computer will not boot though.
1) I've got the 12V from male molex into 12V on the switch, and a wire from 12V to positive M4.
2) I've got the ground from male molex into ground on the switch, and a wire from ground to ground on M4.
3) I've got accessory from the switch to ignition on the M4-ATX.
Flip the switch, blue LED comes on, no boot though.
DO you have the motherboard switch hooked up?
and do you have the pins on the motherboard power connector jumpered?
With only 15Amp on the 12V that's my problem.
The PSU in my desktop PC has 52amp on the 12V. I'm going to rip that one out of there and see if it works.
For those that can't get this to work and wanted another quick check for their power supply. I successfully booted my M4-ATX and computer using a cordless drill battery (18V). It keeps my computer running for 20-30 mins before the M4 soft shuts the computer down (voltage gets low). Obviously test the leads on your own battery but on my Dewalt the rear lead is negative and the front is positive.
Battery reads around 20v without any load from it and about 14 when the M4 is powered.
I am using a 24 pin atx psu for my workbench. I found some pinouts online but I dont think they were the same, so Ive had to leave it plugged into another mobo.
Anyone out there know the pins needed to "jumpstart" the psu?
