Yes, it does need to see somthing there, that's the green with the black connection. Without it, my m2 didn,t have any power on the p4 or any other 12 volt rail.
I, 2, have this very same board and am having NO ISSUES from it! The ONLY thing I have figured out is that the DVI Connector takes total presidence. I made the mistake of choosing LCD in the BIOS, and had NO Video, No POST No BOOT. Notta...
Reset CMOS and Let it do it auto again, and werks like a charm! LOVE this board and had NO Issues like everyone else has had. I have only been in the mini-ITX arena for a short while, and I searched for a board I really got to know. I like Jetway. I am an INTEL Person, but I have always liked Jetway.
One other observation.... When hooking up the PS/2 header for a mouse/kybrd, DO NOT Reverse the connector if you do know what you are doing on the header. I did this mistake and freid 2 kybrds and 2 mice.. LOL This is the only time I have ever run across this issue on the Mobo.
Other than that you can look at my "sig" and see what all I am pushing in this mobo and what I am doing... I do have it max'd in many ways, and using a M2-ATX 160W PS with no issues at all...

My TruckPC WorkLog @ MP3Car.com
we are running the same setup (for the most part ikshnaaying the HD)
All my carpc headaches have gone away since upgrading. I'm so happy I forked the cash for this becuase for a moment I almost scrapped the whole carpc idea. Do you run minlogon? What kind of boot times are you getting?
man, I wish I would have found this thread earlier... we could have shared our agony...
I am the Geil RAM guy BTW....
To make a VERY long (and ongoing) story (kinda) short, I had one of the first J9F2-KHDE boards and started things off with a huge memory problem, with my Geil RAM.... it would only work slowed down to 533.... got in a long drawn discourse with Geil, and they were very helpful, but the RAM never did work right with the first gen motherboard. At the time, I was in a hurry to get things running for a car show, so I ordered a second board, saturday overnight delivery....same shiite. Only would run at slower speeds, but at least board #2 wasn't crashing while making BIOS adjustments!!! Later on, they came out with new BIOS versions, (A02 and A03), and it was a total pain figuring out how to upgrade via a compact flash card as there is no floppy here! That was another disaster as they labled their links wrong on the web site, and I accidentally installed the A02 on one board. Regardless, when I switched them to auto RAM settings everything took a dump, and both boards became useless, even resetting CMOS was of no help. Both boards went back to MITXPC (they have been very helpful) and they sent me two new version boards, some of the connectors headers were different color and they shipped with BIOS A03 (which is good cause I need the miniPCI port to be enabled!). Bought 2 GB of generic kingston RAM at CompUSA and everything on board #3 worked fine, and appeared to be running at normall 677 speed... YAY. So I had an extra board laying around, oh well.
This setup did run great, with the T7200 and 2 gigs of RAM... fast, stable and quick boots and shutdowns.
But a few months ago my video went out. F$@#*. The computer completely boots and runs (I am running Vista 64 ultimate BTW, and it runs fine) but there is no video at all going to the Xenarc. I can poke around blind on the keyboard and get my XMPCR sound up and running (thanks to desktop icons) but of course no video = sucky *** CarPC.
So today I finally got around to trying some things. Hooked up my laptop to the Xenarc, and voila, the Xenarc comes to life. Hooked up a 22" CRT monitor to the Jetway....nothing. Bought a FX-5200 256MB Nvidia PCI card to try (the only Vista capable PCI card I could find) and, crap, still no video or POST or anything on the Jetway, even with a completely seperate video card. SO, out came Jetway board number 4; spent an hour pulling board 3 and installing board 4 into my glove box area. Reboot... YAY! BIOS came up, and yes, like a few of you guys, I also found out early on, (by destroying two PS/2 Keyboards) that you have to have the header PS/2 adapter installed right, so now I just leave the dongle attached for hooking up a PS/2 for BIOS adjustments. So I set up the basics in the BIOS, and hit F10. Upon reboot, no video. MutherF&$@#ER! Reboot and try to enter BIOS again... no video... all the keys do what they are supposed to, I can here the proper beeps and windows sounds, but there is no video on anything. So now I searched the forum again, and found this thread... great, looks like there is an inherent video issue with these boards. But at least you have pointed me to a new motherboard I can use... Question: Because I have so deeply integrated the layout of this Jetway board into my glove box, do you foresee any connectivity/form factor issues when I return these two Jetway boards and buy that MSI Fuzzy board? It sounds like it is a direct replacement huh?
p.s. Today, when I installed board #4, I did select LCD in my BIOS, but I *am* running an LCD, and I think that is where I had it set before...but I will re-set the BIOS and try it on auto just for kicks.
P.P.S I also noticed they have A04 and A05 BIOS available now, anybody upgrade to these yet?
I ordered from Minitx too, and the second board was overnighted to me too. They must hate this board as much as I do by now with all the returns. I must have received the first revision board since my headers were not multicoloured at all as the product should be.
Oh well, glad I dumped that crappy board. The MSI is the same size and only differences would be the ram slot placement being rotated. But other than that the same. The 20pin ATX connector is moved, but for the better. It is in a better position for layout.

I have the OPUS 250W DC-DC supply, but I think one of the other posters reported the 4 pin power connector is present on that PS, as I can't remember if mine has it or not...but you figured out a wire work around in any case. I should be able to re-route the 20 pin connector...BTW, the OPUS actually has that extra 4 pin connector that clicks in under the 20 pin connector on the Jetway, which was nice to get all 24 pins at once.
It also looks like the MSI has my two RS232 serial ports I need for OBDII and also HD Radio control, front line-in jack (for the HD radio), SATA HD connectors, and yay, real PS/2 headers! The 4GB option is nice, but now that I have the two 1 gig sticks of Geil, and two 1 gig sticks of Kingston, that doesn't help much since there are only two slots
BUT on the bad side, the MSI board is looking like the miniPCI slot is missing (for my HDTV card) and I don't see a firewire port or 1394 header anywhere either (for my DVD burner slot load enclosure). Really don't want to use USB for that peripheral. I have so much USB crap as it is, and video is better over Firewire anyways.
Damn, I think I am going to have to pass on this MSI for the time being... if you have any ideas, I am game.
thanks for your replies.

I was having so many problems with the Jetway J7F2... Even with a M3-ATX, it seemed to have loaded the ignition power so much my turn signals wouldn't turn off anymore.
Now I've gone to the MSI Fuzzy, and everything is awesome. Faster, and works great. Very happy.
Same Jetway board sort of worked for a month. Got HDMI to work on one tv but never again. Had trouble with memory at first. Finally last week it went dead just like described. No beep, 2 lights on motherboard, no video. No beep even with memory pulled and everything detached.
I wonder what the 2 red lights mean. One seems to indicate power. The other comes on after 1st boot attempt, and then comes on earlier when power first supplied. Clearing cmos puts out 2nd light until next actual boot attempt.
