Maybe you have a boot to USB option in your bios enabled? Mine does that if I have a usb flash drive plugged in when booting it will hang like that...

I agree..... It seems to really happen though when you use a USB sound card. I know when I had mine the POST was long also. Be glad though that your MoBo doesnt account for all devices. Mine checks all 20 + devices on my system. If I unplug all of them my POST and boot to windows is literally 6 to 7 seconds. With all the devices its at 25 seconds cold boot. If I had the option to turn off that scan I would.

Not anymore. I am upgrading to ZOTAC dual core mobo.
But One thing is for sure that this problem is only related to Intel Bios and Mobo.

time to post an issue.. I just bought this card got it all sounding fantastic... then while I least expected it.. BAM a HUge problem.. I dont use Hibernation. I have a laptop, anyhow I use standy but this dont like standby whatsoever.. Any suggestions Im using the newest drivers.

ok I narrowed down some problems.

I disabled resume music, As winamp was triing to play music on device that wasnt detected yet. So now after I hear the "thump" signaling USB audio is active..I can hit play and music now plays. Now here's another issue after computer resumes, RR now loses its volume control. I triied setting (RRconfig) wave, all lines, master. none work. It seems to lose volume control altogether unless I restart RR then it will work again. I am giving this external 1 out of 10 for carpc's!
Did it.. Done it... now I got to keep the neighbors kids away!!

    1. Go to RRConfig, set Resume Wait for 15 secs. (or do it manually in RR.ini)
    2. When do Standby, or Hibernation, do it in RR exitmenu

Those are the tips that I overcome my bugs.
    Try it!

PS. If the bugs remain, try set the USB Sound card to 48Mhz rather than 96MHz.

Make sure you use the only version of the driver, the "USB_W7DRVBETA_US_1_01_0091.exe"
This works for me in XP system.
The lastest version driver, the 0092, does NOT work for me.

ahh so far 2 tests and the resume delay seems to be doing the trick I also turned it down to 48 like you suggested, this works with shutcontrol also.. i was getting a directsound driver fail..but changing your suggestion of 15 to 10 fixed that..for some reason it wasnt saving the 15 input..thats why Im asuming you said change it in the RR.ini..the 10 works though

ok so heres the original problem solved.. I had issue with volume (wave)increasing upon resume for last few days it would always resume to 100% no matter the volume it was on prior. Come to find out after many troubleshooting issued its due to the code RR uses to save EQ presets. It will automatically select Microsoft soundmapper in winamp rather than SB5.1 so now I know not to use EQ save preset..lol

*I have RR setup to control wave only, if it changes all lines or master I lose the 6 channel slider level preset and they all will level out which is bad news with multi-amp systems and different gain setups So I have Volume master @ 95% in control panel and set the sliders for the 6 channels accordingly for SUB/REar/center channels therefore RR wont lose the settings when volume is raised or lowered. If anyone has the issue of wanting to keep your SB5.1 levels then set RR to wave. Most on here say they have weak volume output (preamp) I think it's doing great on that aspect, it's definintly the settings on this card there so many different settings that completly alter the output level. for instance the CMSS stereo surround with the 5.1 setting enhances the SUB out by 40% at least.. 5.1 mode changes the front and rears so they get practically no bass @ all. What I dont like is this is misleading advertisement! It is not 2.1! nor 4.1! the 4.1 is WHAT I BOUGHT IS FOR..grrrr...this was mentioned earlier in thread I should have listened. This only does 2/4/5.1

I got it finally, posted it in another thread somewhere. Beleive it was USBsoud resume hibenation.. The soundblaster 5.1 has a built in feature that autosaves the headphone and surround levels if it is unplugged! This makes it default from then on to the volume level of its last state evertime its rebooted or resumed reguardless of the settings in RR. I had to zero it out again by pluggin in headphones zero it in control panel then plug in surround ouput zero it also then unplug to get setings to resume letting apps control it. All is good now, it works real well. Im guessing sice you use only the driver that's why your not experiencing that, but if I did that then I would lose my sub/surround/bass enhancements right? I embedded the "entertainment console" anyhow..but Im surely working on actually skinning it and commands to get it to communicate like winamp does so I can have it more integrated.
Im gonna try yourt method just to see if it loses that annoying feature previously mentioned.
