I have this sitting in front of me and can't get the audio driversw to work. they install but it dont work.
XP SP3 fresh new everything, all other drivers are working from original cd, no internet connection on this one as I have wifi only, my laptop had this issue wondering if it's UAA driver issue.. (Universal Audio Architecture) its as a PCI device unknown on this Intel, anyone have the same issue?
thats strange indeed.. I updated bios, and all drivers via internet today... and still had unknown PCI device..with no audio... completly new PC with XP SP3 disk works flawless on laptop.. anyways I got the UAA drivers form microsoft and it worked (HIGH defnintion bus) thats what the PCI device was.. im dissapointed nothing documented on this..
I'm having trouble booting anything on this board. I have a USB DVD drive with which I've tried using an ubuntu live cd and a windows install cd. I've also tried a bootable USB with ubuntu on it. I'll either get a "Boot Error" message or "No bootable device available - insert bootable device and press any key to continue"
I'm at a loss. I can't do anything until I can load my operating system. Any help would be appreciated.
Have you enabled the USB boot devices in the BIOS?
Because I have this booting to my USB key which has Ghost on it and had to enable the USB device to boot from in BIOS before it would do it.
I have enabled the USB boot devices, as well as changed the boot order to place CD/DVD first, then harddisk drives. I'm fairly certain that the the bootable USB drive is interpreted as a harddisk because there is no option for USB devices in the selections for boot order.
As a side note, I have tested both the bootable USB and the CD/DVD drive on other computers, and both work.
It won't show up in the Boot Menu until you enable it in the BIOS
And my USB memory stick showed up by it's name, it didn't show up as a harddrive.
I'll double check my bios settings, but I'm pretty sure I've already enabled the USB devices.
So... It's working. I have no idea why. I had the USB devices enabled, and the only setting I changed was "boot USB devices first" to disabled.
I have no explanation, but thank you Enforcer for your help.
