Have a look at this guy's selection, maybe there's something you might need:

I know, I'm still looking though.

It seems to me that xenarc has the best quality monitors out. I have an older 4 wire TS 700tsv witch is on it last leg. I was thinking about the newer 5- wire 700tsv http://www.xenarc.com/product/700tsv.html but I would like a little larger screen then the 7" but I want good brightness also. It seem like the 8" 805 wont be as bright.http://www.xenarc.com/product/805tsv.html
if you're looking for a bright screen, i'd go with the 702TSV. of course it aint an 8", but its incredibly bright.
I thinking since my old xenarc 700tsv touch screen is not working. I going to use 3m capacitive touch screen and take out the old resistive panel. That alone will make it much brighter.
I'm tired of the 7" format, I'm definitely looking for an 8/9" screen. I have the 700TSV five wire resistive, 500nits, it's bright, but it does not save the brightness setting so it's kind of pointless. Also the viewing angles are terrible.
Bright sunny day, indirect sun light, if you look at it straight, it's passable, if the skin has white background, it's perfectly adequate. Now from the driver's point of view (40 degrees?) it's useless.

yeah mine does not save the brightness either, it always default back to 33 brightness. Then I have to adjust it back to 99. I thought the newer 5-wire 70tsv didnt have the brightness memory problem. well, thats what xenarc told me a year ago. Then you might have a problem board issue, thats what they said is the issue when the brightness resets. what do you think is a better monitor to use? what brand is the best? I thought xenarc builds the best monitors. I dont think a 10" will do in my 300c. I like my monitors at eye level vs in the middle or lower part of the dash bezel. this is a picture of my current setup in my 05 300c

I think mine defaults to 65 or so, I'll have to check. Hate this behavior.
I think a 10" widescreen is perfectly doable. No idea about the screen though.
Xenarcs are reliable (I've dismounted mine countless times), meaning things work, but technologically, they lag behind badly. I have an iPad, the 9" display is so thin and phenomenal. Really bright. How do they do it for $499, no plan, and still have storage, processing power and an OS running I don't know. You could stack 3 iPads on top of each other and still would be thinner than any Xenarc.
