i know we live in the stone age when it comes to displays. oled is going to change the entire game. bezel fabrication will become nearly extinct as screens will be 3mm thick and flexible enough to roll up like a newspaper... meaning you can install them anywhere instantly. and since they produce their own light with contrast levels never before seen in typical displays, 'transflective' coatings will be even less important. also, the plugin potential to add heads-up displays to your windshield should be grand- even on your mirrors- the oled screens themselves will be transparent, and allow you to apply them like a film right on glass. that way, use the mirror or window as normal, and if you want the enhanced vision you can turn the display on. again, all this can be done without any real modification to the car at all when oled comes to market.

I was refering to something other then the OLED screens. I will be posting a long review/ ton of info about the changes that Lilliput has made to their monitors in the next few days

i cheaped out and bought the non Transflectiveversion as i thought it was a marketing ploy but probably regret not bucking up the extra cash for the Transflectiveone. My non Transflective also had mounting issues with the small screws but like others say it just needs a washer and some hot glue. I wish I read this review before i bought =(.

However, that being said, the non-Transflective is not that big of an issue for me as the design of my car has a very straight edge windshield, so I dont get any sun coming overhead onto my dash, so I dont think its actually needed in my case.

Do this EBY 701 support features that the 629 don't?

Both are liliputs, right? Do lilliputs rotate 180 degrees, to mount in the overhead console? Do they have the auto on feature? Do they save the brightness and contrast settings even if their power is cut (like when feeding their power from the PSU).

I'm looking to buy a transflective, but I'd like to have a transflective Xenarc. I've heard horrible things about lilliputs, so why we don't see transflective Xenarcs or others?

And how long are we going to see only 7"? I'd like to see 8", 9" and 10" tranflective touchscreen monitors, but I guess not.

I installed the Lilliput 669GL last weekend, which is basically the same as the 701 but with HDMI and DVI inputs. So far it's been great.

It replaces a Xenarc 705-TSV that had a habit of turning on with the image upside-down or mirrored left-to-right, and it hasn't done that to me yet, so that alone makes me very happy. Plus it's very bright and the touchscreen requires less pressure - not quite like a capacitive phone touchscreen but still noticeably better that what I was accustomed to.

I got it from MoCoSo, and they went above and beyond to make me a happy customer. Good people.
