It all works GREAT! Inside 2 hours, I get music in about 5 seconds after key turn. 40 sec otherwise. And the DVR starts recording properly too....which is good.
But this is all ancient history...or soon will be. I'll start installing this tomorrow:
ASUS P8H67-I DELUXE (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I52500K
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-4GBSQ
128gb Sata6 Corsair SSD
This actually draws LESS power than my current i3 530 board! Should be some BIG fun. I'll let you all know how it goes and what the performance is like....although I already know since I'm typing this on essentially the same layout. A little more ram, bigger hard drives, but an Asus P67 sabertooth and a Sandy Bridge i5.
I'm using the same motherboard with m4 -atx and windows 7. Its works great the only hitch being the post time
Just wondering if you have done anything (i.e change settings) to
a. Speed up the post time
b. Speed up loading windows (from hibernate)
The other annoying things is that when i use my iPod it takes another minute or so to initialize and freezes centrafuse during that time. Any ideas how i can fix that?
I was talking about the gigabyte board.
It takes around 40s to load from hibernate from mine
There is no difference in post time when i connect the iPod. jus that centrafuse freezes when i connect it!
I tried to do the same thing as vegas guy i.e get my car pc to go to sleep first then 2 hours later to hibernate
In windows power setting i put the power button option to sleep and hibernate to 1hr 50 mins (hybrid sleep is off). I've set my m4 atx to cut off 5v after 2 hours.
The problem is that when i switch on my car after more than 2 hours windown says that it wasn't shut down properly (when at 1:50 it should have gone to hibernate before the 5v was switched off)
Any idea what i'm doing wrong?
I'm thinking of changing my mobo to something that boots to windows a lot faster
was thinking about this http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=E350M1
the gigabytes are just too slow...
do you powering your monitor with the same m2-atx?
my setup quite same as your;
Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 motherboard, i3 540 processor, 4gb RAM
the pc can't start unless i unplug power cable to monitor & usb hub first.
or could be m2atx not enough for my setup. i hv using another dc-dc (65w) to powering the monitor.
but the power for the second psu still came from m2atx.
