    It does both.

    Sorry, origional post was too fast.

    It defaults to turning it off +5VSB. Basically, after it senses the computer shut down and that ACC is low, it will turn off everything only drawing 3mA on the battery, so 5VSB is off.

    There is a bit that you can set with the serial interface that will keep it from going into deep sleep. Basically the motherboard can do Standby or whatever with +5VSB staying on.

    i got around to lightly testing the psu. don't know really what to say, except that it works.

    tested it on 12v automotive power, works excellent.
    tested it on 12v ac-dc power, works excellent.
    psu is in 'dumb' mode during ac-dc testing, 'smart' mode during automotive testing.
    lcd display is being powered off one of the psu's molex leads.

    nothing much except to say that the psu gets slightly warm [i didn't touch it, but it feels like it's radiating a little bit of heat, although slight].

    my computer specs are in my signature. the external ac-dc power brick that came with the computer is rated at 60w, and the lcd states it draws less than 9w, so the total amount of power the sytem should be using is much less than what the psu is rated for.

    from the bios, here are my voltage readings;
    vcore -- 1.66v [steady]
    2.5v -- 2.58v [steady]
    3.3v -- 3.41v [steady]
    5v -- 5.17v-5.20v
    12v -- 12.78v [steady]

    EDIT 10-16-2005
    i have logged a handful amount of hours doing some relatively cpu-intensive [at least, for my cpu] mpeg4 decoding. i was using ffdshow under windows, and media player classic. also did a few test runs using geexbox to play over the local network. no problems.

    I haven't fully test mine yet DSATX 220W vs Custom built Mastero/Sproggy 4.5 (Review). If it works like these folks said, it worths every pennies out of that 200 bucks. It's so darn small (size) for it capability.
