I also noticed this issue with my 700H, and found a solution:3) When opening the screen... popping it out is fine, nice strong spring, however, turning it up requires a lot more force than I would like to apply. When it pops out is is pretty much locked in a downward facing position and you have to unlock/unclick it. Another thing that makes this akward is that there is no good place to pull it up from. I find myself pulling on the 'frame' surrounding the lcd, i could see this causing breakage in the future. Maybe it will loosen up in time and turning it up will not require so much force.
There are 2 "clips" on either side of the pivot point on the car side of the hinge. This is a little hard to explain. Anyway, on each of these clips there is a small philips screw. I removed both of these. The screws are also holding some kind of dust shield that prevents dust from getting inside the screen's "cubby" in the dash. I removed both of the clips and then replaced the screws to hold the dust shield.
Now, the monitor springs out and clicks, but no longer "snaps" before being able to flip up or down. It flips up and down with very little effort. I can now flip out or stow the screen with one hand. I haven't noticed any side effects to removing the clips yet. I thought perhaps it would "jiggle" while inside the dash, but so far it seems just as sturdy as it was.
Peace.
