    Good Review.
Have you test how many watts will it go up to if you're playing a DVD??
I'm guessing it will jump. LoL.

For those that have 2+Ghz CPU's, have you considered down clocking it a little to 1500 or so? Drop the core voltage down some and bingo - comsumes less power, runs cooler and is still quick.

    Just a thought.

Hey, I'm using an ATX PSU with the mobo connector jumped to get it to turn on and provide 12volts for me to test my M2.

Now without a mobo to test, can I jumper the M2 mobo connector as well to get it to turn on? I plugged an LED into the LED jumper and plugged a fan into one of the molex connectors. It looks like the LED comes on, but the fan doesn't.

Shouldn't the fan come on with the LED? Any other way to test this M2 without a mobo?

I tried it with the mobo in the car, but it won't boot it up, so I want to see if the problem is in the M2 or my mobo.

You would probably need to jumper the M2, but Im not sure which pins...the same for the psu maybe?

I tried that. It didn't seem to come on. I'm wondering if it HAS to have a mobo of some kind. I also tried not jumpering the M2 connector. The LED came on, but no fan.

Jumpering consists of connecting the green mobo wire to one of the black ground wires next to it. Pretty easy.

This may seem like a silly question, but if i want to run my monitor off the 12v rail, should I throw a fuse in there between the monitor and power supply? I'm also thinkin about running a usb hub as well, so i'm guessing the answer will be the same for both.

If the monitor is pretty far away and there is a chance that the cable could get pinched, then add a fuse (3-5 amp fast blow) close to the PSU. I'm not really sure it's needed, though. Over the years I've shorted home PSU's by accident messing around with them and they usually shut off instantly.
