Well, it will work wired to your car battery. It's debatable on how much time it will cut from the units' lifetime. But I power my LCD from my M2ATX, 160 watt is enought to power my Mini itx and screen

I would not recommend this screen

I have had it for about 2 months. I live in california and it is now starting to get cold. This screen would not work probably in the cold, all the lights would turn on and stay on, the screen would not function. I had to turn off my car about 3 times to get it to work. Alot of the times there would be a purple color to the screen for about ten minutes. The last two weeks the screen would shut off and i would have to hit the power button on and off for it to come on. Finally it just died. Please understand that I installed this cleanly. I decided to open this screen. There were plenty of bridges in the saudering. The bulb was charred on both of ends of it...

I do not recommend this screen. It is not quality work. Perhaps I just had a bad experience. But from the way this thing is assembled... i would not buy this again.

FWIW Mine works fine at 5ºF...

I purchased this item 2 weeks ago. It was working fine for those first two weeks but as of yesterday the screen goes black 2 seconds after being powered up (black as in no power to the screen). This problem occurs with OR without VGA input and I checked the screen on a different syste, so I'm positive it's not hardware/software related. All other aspects of the unit work after it blacks out. Even the touchscreen still works... After it blacks out, you can touch the screen somewhere, turn the power to the monitor OFF and then back ON again and within the 2 seconds that the screen is working again, you can see that the cursor has moved to where the screen was touched. I am currently in touch with the place that I purchased it to see what will be done as far as a replacement, repair and/or refund. We'll see....

Hi, if you are referring to short-circuit.com, they will take care of you. Carl will get that replaced for you asap. I had to send mine back because it wasnt opening/retracting correctly. Got it rmaed and returned all in the same week.

I just picked one of these up on eBay, but didn't receive any drivers. Anyone know if they are available online somewhere? Maybe some generic drivers for the USB touchscreen component somewhere?
