I'll take one @ $149 Euro, but it seems that for me to buy this it would cost me well over $220 Euro just to get it here in OZ.

I tried to buy the HQCT from your website once and it was way too expensive with all the BS involved and so I had to buy a 2nd hand unit.

Send me one @ $149 and we have a deal!
Do you mean euro or dollar?? $149 Euro doesn't exist

The only thing that's added on our website is shipping (if ordering from outside the EU). We have to pay shipping too, and don't earn a cent on that.

Go to his website and figured it out for yourself.
This is crazy everytime there is a new product this happens. Same thing when MP3car.com released the transflective touch screen. Everyone complained about the price (it is the most expensive item you would buy for your carpc system). But amazingly tons of people are buying them. Yes, when this hobby or website began people were building carpcs as a different way to play music from there car by building there carpc from spare parts and cheaply bought ebay items. Now things are getting a little more sophisticated and cheap is not going to be the idea anymore if you really want all the bells and whistles. I believe there is an entire thread on "if you can't afford it, save and then buy it" or "If you think this is a cheap hobby back away now before you are too far to turn back".

It's 149.00 euro. Shipping is 27.00 euro worldwide. Euro 176.00 delivered to your doorstep.
If there's import taxes and bad conversion rates, that doesn't change what we receive for it, neither what we pay for parts and laybor.

The only advantage over AB is a bit more power-efficiency, while being more expensive... The audio quality isn't better, sometimes even worse...

Why would you want class D?

As you mentioned, the advantage of Class D is its power efficiency, with class AB you waste so much power producing heat. Class D would mean you could not only make the unit much smaller and run cooler, you could extend the battery life of the whole system.
Because the amp is connected to a car battery as a power source, while the engine is off you have a limited amount of juice. This makes class D far more valuable and useful in this environment, consider you want to listen to some tunes while having a drink around the campfire at night with some friends, there is nothing worse than waking up the next morning to find your head hurts, and your car wont start! Class D reduces the risk of this and at the very least extends the number of listening hours available.

That's true indeed, although it's mostly a hype - AB is already quite power-efficient (up to 78%). The gain in efficiency (about 12% for very good designs) would not justify the much higher cost though...
