No, not at all, you can put it where I think!
Only if it was really cheap, say $50
Only if it was cheap, about $100
This is the thing I was born for, send me one now!
It'll be aluminium, with an external heatsink to dissipate the heat from the amplifier.
Thanks for the heads up.
You won't need a sound card (internal or external) to be able to use the amplifier, it's got a soundcard (DAC) integrated! Control (volume, mute) and audio is sent over USB from the PC.
Joachim
...that only works for sending sound to the PC (for audio sources outside of the PC).
All audio that comes out of the speakers comes out of the internal DAC. If it first enters the line-in, it is sent to the PC and is then played back by the DAC (this way volume control, equalizer, time shifting are also possible on line-in audio).

So can some buy one without the housing?
guess this topic is dead?
I'm sorry, a combination of the end-of-year festivities and me being ill has led to some falling behind.
E-mails will be answered today!
On the analog input: if you want, you can use the analog outputs as inputs by sending audio at line level into them. It's not really meant to be used like this but it works.
A version without housing will probably only be available in larger quantities.
Joachim
no sir,
just waiting to get the pcb's and the housings so we can put one and two together and test them.
Housing is to be metal because of heat dissipation of the amplifier chip, so if one wants to buy witout housing one has to provide some heat dissipation.
Xmas and New year dropping right in the middle of the week does not help when time is short, add a couple down with flu and all gets delayed...
see if we can stumble back to our feet and get going again.
Diogenes.
Will it only have one input? I need a line-in AND a mic input. The line-in I need for my XM unit, and the mic I need for my mic for voice control and Bluetooth phone conversations (the mic must be on the same soundcard as the speakers or there is a bad delay during phone conversations due to latency).
Wow, great idea. I want one!
