HD Radio Cables READY!

I have tried SEVERAL options with the visteon...It is what it is... I live din Phoenix AZ where there is many powerful stations and it was ok. Moved back to PA and I got ONE major station where I was..I am now in Philadelphia and I'm good again... I have tried many things as experiments to improve reception... None seem to have ANY affect on it's performance.

GLASS ANTENNA = BAD!

hari-bhari, YES extending it BAD

keep it away from PC too, PC makes horrid RFI

make sure ur powering up the antenna...
but its NOTHING like a real 30" mast antenna...

Has anyone ever used the antenna amplifier from the subaru's on in a different vehichle, on say the Glass antenna to see if it helps. I had the thought after reading this, thinking about how to get better reception from my glass antenna.

About the only thing to stop me is someone saying they already have and it didn't work.

i used to be in the car audio biz, aftermarket antenna amplifiers NEVER work

are u sure ur powering up the cars ampilied antenna?

fyi, it may NEVER work, and u will be left with 3 options

1. install a mast antenna
2. reinstall the factory radio
3. get a new car

thats the facts... i know u dont like to hear it... but...
now a days #2 works for me!!!
course my car has a mast antenna

search the subaru forums, for aftermarket radio antenna issues

I don't have an amplified antenna as far as I know, it's a 97 accord. It is a glass antenna, and I know they aren't as good. I thought the subaru's came with one from the factory, and I was assuming it to be a little higher quality, not that I ever had much hope for the concept.

all glass antennas are amplified (as far a i know)
but sometimes the amplifier is INSIDE the factory radio
the radios Front End, is desigend for the the right antenna on the car

if the factory radio gets good reception... better then the aftermarket

I have an 04 wrx wagon and it has the glass antenna. I checked and the radio harness has a wire for powering the antenna. I spliced this with a 12v accessory wire; is that the correct way to power it?
My reception was great with the factory head unit.

yea... the factory front end inside the radio, is specifically designed for that antenna
where the HD Radio isnt

look in forums for sabarus where people have attempted to change the radio
see if others complain about antenna

YOU didnt tint the back window did you???? with metalic tint?

So is a DIRECTED DMHD1000s still everyone's favorite for incorporating HD Radio into a CAR PC setup?

Also, can this be completely controlled by a front-end, or are we stuck using the lame display?
