Those only lasted a few hours. I was haggling for the third one when somebody hit the buy it now for the balance of them. I ended up with a beat up used Visteon unit. Still keeping my eye out for a Directed.

OK, I'm having some issues getting my Directed DMHD1000 to work in Centrafuse 2.0. It works great with Mitch's HDPCR 1.6.0.0 program, but when I try to use Centrafuse to interface with the radio, it just acts like nothing's there - none of the buttons seem to do anything, and there's no sound or anything like that. I'm pretty sure that it's assigned to COM1 - is there any way to check with the HDPCR program to see what port it's on? What else can I do?

Sorry I didn't find anyone using MIC for sound input, or USB to 2 serial cable... So, okay, dumb question (it's been almost 3 years since my first HDRadio install.).

I am using a Cables Unlimited USB to 2 Serial, that gives me COM 4 and COM 5. How can I know which is it (both passes all XP tests apparently). HD PCR 1.6 has no problem connecting to it, but I hear no sound, and it does not tell me which port he has found the radio. Also I can't change where to listen to the sound (Radio is connected to the MIC IN in my Tablet. Any ideas?

My understanding is that a Serial to USB adapter has to be specific. It has to have a certain protocall and emulation. My new motherboard only has 1 com port, and I needed 4. I bought a Keyspan USA-4W. The latest model is the USA-4WG http://www.tripplite.com/en/products...xtModelID=3916, this one should work also.

This is a one port version. http://www.tripplite.com/en/products...xtModelID=3914

Well, I'm using the same USB to Serial cable I used before with the Visteon Radio/Mitch cable and it worked fine in 2007 (line in input + Micro ATX board). The Radio clicks when the computer boots etc. (Maybe a little too much, it's not one click, more like a machine gun of clicks). The radio finds a couple of stations I know, displays RDS info, but I can't make it work with RR or Centrafuse. And with Mitch's app, I don't hear any sound.

BTW, those adapters are very expensive! This is the one I have. Drivers here.

I'll test it with a real mic to know for sure. When I plugged in the HD radio, I had a loud humming noise in the background. Then I used an M4ATX as 12V power source, the background noise is gone. Hope it was not too late, I fear maybe I damage either mic in or the rca out on the visteon. I'll report back.

Also, in CF 3.1 it's stuck into AM mode, I can't change that, strange. RR (COM4) displays the last station the HDPCR1.6 found and I saved as preset, but scan does not work, no sound either. It's probably a stupid mistake I'm making, I don't know. Also RR has no options to chose mic in, just wave, line in plugin, whatever.
