No and I could not power it anyways. The power wires are wired to the car harnesses.

    im at a crossroads...

im working on a 100% usb version...

it will cost more, but not compared to the old cable + a quality USB->COM cable
+ it will be 1 package

    Ill post details soon

its been a few years on the old cable, and lately more and more people asking about which usb->com to use, or we're troubleshooting a crappy usb->com
    -Thanks

Well that certainly makes sense. I've just received my Directed HD in the mail, so whenever you have this new product or the old please do let me know.

    Good luck

    Hey Mitch,

I'm also looking to buy the serial cable for my Directed HD Radio. My preference would actually be for the serial version rather than the USB version because I have very few usb ports, and one free serial port. Of course if you don't have any serial versions left, I understand, and I'll wait until some USB versions are available.

    Thanks!

Have you checked with mo-co-so? They may have them in stock.

Thanks, they did and I ordered one. A bit expensive, but not a lot of alternatives to get my HD radio integrated.

Well after their shipping charges it was around $43, considering this is nearly half the price of the radio itself, I consider it expensive. I'm not saying your price is too high, I imagine with a low volume it isn't cheap to make this part. I am saying that the shipping was a bit steep.

In a perfect world the manufacturer would provide a cheap or included PC interface, or there would be instructions describing how I can make the cable/circuit myself. But it's not a perfect world, so thank you for making this interface, because otherwise I would have no options
