Thread: HD Radio Cables READY!

So I just put my CarPC in my new car and decided to put the DIRECTED DMHD1000 back in with it.. I have the serial version of the cable and I'm going to a serial to USB adapter.. It's not working in Centrafuse but I hear the unit clicking on and off..

I know there used to be an app to test but can't find it.. I downloaded that SatAmp program but can't figure that out for the life for me.. Any ideas?

I bought MJS HD Radio USB PC Interface Cable to connect to HD RADIO.

I want to connect it without the plug, stick the wires directly onto the PCB.
I opened the MJS HD Radio USB PC Interface Cable and they seem Joined photos:

I think they are pin 7 and 8 and are not used SNO

What would it take to connect the hand controller to the PC?

I am assuming that a serial connection would work but has anyone tried hooking the controller to the PC?
I am looking at trying to use it as an HMI for my CarPC but I am not a hardware guy. If I tie into the RS232 lines will that be enough or is there feed back to the unit to know it is connected other then a software solution?

Going to try making the PC a "man in the middle" to test this out and once I have the protocols worked out I want to try to control the unit and use its buttons as an interface to the computer.

I HAVE a cable to run my radio.

I have this controller that is currently worthless when I use the HD radio hooked to my PC.

I want to hook this controller to my PC and use it as an input device and an external display.

Although this drawing does help somewhat.
