Port opened by process "HDRadioPCR.exe" (PID: 2368)
    Port Closed

your program then says that it could not locate a radio on a Com port.

Do you (or anyone else) think that I need to set the com port for a specific speed or other setting? As an alternative, does anyone have a specific converter and driver combination that has proven to work?

    Possibly a defective cable (transistor)?

    Thanks in advance.
That's because the quality of your USB--> Serial converter. I personally have to different models that use the same driver, with the cheap one doesn't work with the more expensive does. If you read some posts back on this same thread you will find I post I made with ref to the version that I have working that costs $8.99

    Jarepa,

I loaded HD Radio PCR application on a Windows 2000 CPU that has a serial port and the direct connection worked.

Obviously the hardware handshake is not happening to raise the level of the signal line. I will order the cable you referenced in your earlier post. It lists the following:

    Supports automatic handshake mode.
Supports Remote wakeup and power management.

The one I have only lists the Remote wakeup and management, not the automatic handshake.

    Thanks for the advice.

Unfriendly USB adapters, man I thought that a handshake should be automatic anyway....

my 2cents on the ground, i found with out it my audio input couldnt get a good reference to the signal...and grounding the rcas got rid of a turn on thump(cap in the tuners output stage)

i would consider grounding it, then using HQ isolation transformers (NOT A PAC GLI) the ones from davidnavone

but it looks like its different for everyone... so..

the object is to get HQ sound with no noise

HELP! I have the tuner working with the standalone HD Radio software on mitchjs's site. I have tried every RR radio skin I can find and none of them work at all (Thundersticks, MGDs, the LSX Void one, and the default non-HD ones in fresh installs of most of the current popular skins).

I have downloaded the latest RR, downloaded the latest RRConfig, set the radio setting to HD in the config, ran the runme1st.cmd file in the HDRadio sub-dir, and even added "X,HDRadio\HDRadioComm" to the top of menu.skin. Still no luck. What am I missing here?

Ok got my HD Radio other and hooked up in the car. Radio sounds and works great with the supplied LCD but when I hook up to computer I can't get it to turn on. I installed mitch's radio software but it can't locate the radio. Thanks for any help on this.

Ok got it working with Mitch's software. I tried searching for new hardware which locked up my computer and I also screwed the cable in better and after restart the software found it. Don't think it was the cable being loose only because I could hear it click when computer was starting up before but either way it works and HD radio is great. Thanks for the cable Mitch.
