I struggled with intermittant HD radio working in RR - but it worked 100% of the time in the external software.

Solution: 1) Make sure the com port is correct in rr.ini
    2) Make sure you're running RoadRunner.exe, and NOT rr.exe. All of my shortcuts were to rr.exe by default, but HD Radio only worked correctly with RoadRunner.exe.

Works great now, thanks for the great cable Mitch!

Has anybody had any issues with absolutely no radio reception? I have the Visteon HDZoom box and trying to bench test currently running the RCA's into a receiver. I can get the radio to power up and everything seems to work, except absolute no reception AM or FM. When I scan it runs through all channels. I do get a bit of static on all FM channels.

Any suggestions? I'm going to try to return this, hopefully my ebay seller will allow it.

Dude your unit is fine, just need an antenna to get signals.

I plugged in one of the antenna adapters supplied with the unit. Granted it wasn't into the vehicle, but shouldn't you be able to get some sort of signal? I couldn't even get crappy FM or AM.

Do you guys use an actual antenna when bench testing or something more then just a piece of wire? Just curious because it seems like many people here on forum were able to pull a signal when the unit wasn't connected to car antenna.

    Thanks.

I have successfully bench tested with nothing more than a 4" piece of insulated wire. Both ends stripped (maybe 1/4"). Shoved one end into the antenna input (make sure it makes it all the way into the center... the outer contact is a shield/ground.)

I've picked up HD over a 4" wire. It doesn't take much...

Using in it the house also yielded less desirable results than in the car. My house was like a HD Bermuda triangle. It work work great say near a window, but move 4 feet away and I would get nothing, much like your describing. I really did not hear the real output of this unit until it was in my car hooked up direct to my OEM antenna.

Cool thanks. I just wasn't sure if i wanted to go through the hassle of pulling everything only to find out I had a bad unit. But I will definitely give it a try with car radio.

I'm also having reception problems in car. I have an Acura TL which has it's antenna built into the rear windows. The stock HU picks up clear signal...however when I got my Pioneer 9800bt HU, I was getting static on some stations. With the Visteon, I'm only getting HD on a few stations. I live in So. Cal. Orange County where I the signal to be strong.

    Problem
    1) Stock Antenna is not sensitive enough, or is not designed for HD radio or
    2) Signal in Orange County, CA is weak

Most likely the antenna type. The HD tuners seem very particular to mast style antennas.
