Hope I'm not asking a question to an answer I missed already, what option's are there for UK usb Radio that work, I tried a Dab Usb job and it's great when your'e stopped but that's it..
Don't give up hope on CD_IN!, you have to hardware it to the mobo but I can guarantee its a line in that works!
The original HQCT module used this for audio input, its what I had before I switched over to HD. (BTW HD kills the HQCT in quality)
Hows the new batch of cables coming mitch? I've been toying around with my new (well my 2nd new) tuner![]()

Can anyone tell me what's the best HD radio for Streetdeck?
Also is there any FM Radio that works 100% with SD?
I've been reading posts about it and I couldn't find a final answer yet.
Thanks,

i dont think there is gonna be a "best" tuner
from what i read, NONE of the "USB" tuners work well in moving cars
and the Visteon HD Radio is made for cars, a ton of people say its the best
and finnaly they had radio in thier car again
basicly its just someone sitting down and coding the module for SD
bug em to contact me for help, i would help

Thanks for your answer. I'm still looking fo a real world solution that works good and it's cheaper than my monthly income lol.
I'll check on the Visteon HD Radio, but i understand it's not ready for prime time yet?
What about the tuner from an Infill unit? Why it's not available as a stand alone device? I guess a lot of us will buy it if it works nativelly. Don't you think?
I'm thinking of making a remote control command on the steering wheel, and I'd like to avoid having to use a fm receiver plugged into the Line in to the pc. I don't like to have another display. I want to use the LCD screen.
I'm installing it on a Mustang and I don't have much space to play with there.
I wonder why it's so difficult to have a simple thing like a radio... It's older than computers...

I have the Visteon HD Radio unit with Mitch's cable. It works great and there is nothing "unfinished" about it. I have it plugged into my line-in on my soundcard, but mitch's cable is a serial cable that is used to control the visteon unit from my computer. Integrating it into road runner was as easy as copying one directory and adding a line into my RR config file.
I only have one touchscreen LCD that I use for everything.. you don't need or use the separate LCD/controller that comes with the Visteon. In fact, you can't use it because mitch's cable takes up the port that it's supposed to plug into.
Hope that helps.. I really recommend mitch's cable & the visteon.. it works great and I have perfect reception, equal to or better than what I had with my stock radio.
Nice stang.![]()
My radio reception is also much better than my stock headunit. When it's in HD mode its as clear a CD no doubt.
The HD tuner is by far the best AM/FM solution, and this is coming from someone who has tried them all including the expensive/rare HQCT module. In fact I own 2 HD tuners and am in the process of adding the second to my home theater PC.
Also, just a FYI, the Visteon unit is actually a standalone tuner that has been reverse engineered (by mitch) to allow PC interfacing.
