yes... there is a SW Mute for the radio and is exposed in my interface class
the HW Mute is not controllable by user

but u dont even need that, just mute the LINE in when NOT listening

how in RR, i dont know, sounds like a custom rr build thing
does RR turn off the radio? when you leave the screen? or only when u exit...
i guess i could set up answer my questions

From the sound of it, (clicking) RR is turning the tuner on/off when switching media to/from RADIO.

It would be nice to just have it on, but muted when listening to AUDIO, VIDEO, etc. to save the few secs of lag when switching media...

When I select "Radio" in any skin, the visteon relay clicks, then some slight popping sound and then after a couple of seconds, you hear radio.

The radio always stays on unless I select a "Music" skin or "Video" skin. At this point you hear the radio click off. When I select "Radio" again the relay clicks, radio turns on ..etc...

What I want is for the radio to stay on so that I can just mute the line in like you suggest and not have to wait for the radio to turn on and off.

Is this the behaviour that you other RR users experience?

It is totally usable as is, but would be faster and smother if the radio didn't turn on and off.

BTW im using the winamp linein plugin for now if that makes any difference, oh and I my radio settings in rr.ini are as follows...

allowallfreqs=false
radioline=0
uselineinplugin=true
lineinpar=line://title=Radio,srate=44100,bps=16,nch=2

ok, need GUINO's help here, to have him do radio a different way
he coded hd radio based on his other radios...
so it would slip right in...

i agree, it should power on tuner, at load... and keep it on, till shutdown/sleepy

pcpete, i dont know how rr manages audio... but it looks like YOU DONT have to use the line in plugin... if your radio is connected to the same mixer device as the speakers
there should be a monitor pin in the mixer...
i dont know if RR can control that
id think its related to "radioline=0" but that may only control CAPTURE pins...
guino can answer that.. or somone can try it

but even using winamp... its just a simple thing to mute line in... id think
or guino can add the call to the mute in the hdradio class

i cant see what he does, since i dont think there is souce of RR out there that has the hdradio code in it...

Thx for looking into this mitch (and guino hopefully too), as this would really make it more seamless.

As for using the linein winamp plugin, its because my soundcard is an M-Audio FW 410 and it's linein isn't part of the windows mixer.

Anyone else using this audio interface?

I don't know if everyone has this issue, but I've seen it posted before:

When starting the pc, I can hear the visteon freaknig out (on/off/on/off)as the serial port does it's thing.
