I think Mitch meant that we have glass antennas as our factory antennas. In any case, I hope your new antenna produces good results, and ends up being the answer for me as well. I was driving to work today listening to (attempting to listen to, actually) my favorite rock station here, and the static was so bad that I finally just shut the whole damn thing off. While I didn't install a car pc to be listening to FM radio all the time, I sure do miss it sometimes, and when the wife drives the car, she's ready to pull her hair out since FM is all she listens to.Actually, what I bought is not an "glass antenna".......................

Worst-case scenario would be big ugly antenna on the outside of my car but man do I not want to do that.
nola111, you could put back in the factory radio, i bet it has perfect fm/am reception
there is some scarcasm there, but there is also some truth...
i worked for CC for 5 years, then at small autoradio shop for 5, then owned my own for 2
i saw the 1st glass antennas come out

Well like I said, I didn't go through the trouble of installing a car pc to be spending the majority of my time in the car on FM radio anyway. I'll live with what I've got, but my fingers are crossed tightly to hear good news from greatwhite on the new antenna he bought.
Plugged it in today, haven't run power to it yet. As good as the in glass antenna, maybe a little better.
I'll try to get to running the power wire this weekend and see what happens..........

I'd also be curious to know how the reception changes as you move the antenna to different placements.
What antenna is it? Any links, Greatwhite? I bought a cheap, small flexible one at Fry's, I won't even try using the stock in glass antenna. I thinking about placing it on the rear deck laid flat, or maybe somewhere close to the sunroof antenna...
