I don't mean to hijack this or anything, but since everyone's already off topic and I don't wanna read FIFTY-TWO pages: is there a schematic for your cable anywhere? Im going to be writing my own software anyway and Im very good with electronics so I figured I'd just roll my own.
I can't figure out what I need to type in google to actually get it.
now, thats a odd request... the offical answer is NO
define writing "own software"

"own software" means Im writing my own frontend and every little piece of coding behind it. So I want to buy the Visteon unit and use a serial - USB connector to control it. I know that you provide software with your cable, and I figure that adds to the cost. Since I won't be using your software, the cable itself can't cost much so I wanted to see if I could get a schematic.
I'm just being cheap, using the skills I already have to save money.
Thanks anyway. Good work by the way.
well reverse engineer the protocol of the tuner, then get back to me

Other people have already reverse-engineered it and there's software available, if the full protocol isn't directly available, worst-case scenario is that I have to read through some people's software and figure it out.
Don't worry, got it covered, and now found a schematic for the cable.
Crazy how much work you must have put into this!
Dude why even bother. Mitch has provided the reverse engineering for everyone. For the cost of the cable he has more than made up for the time it would take to figure/solder/engineer the cable myself.
Anyways, I don't know about y'all, but as soon as I got the cable and that pu'rty .dll assembly, I wrote a nice .NET event driven wrapper around it. Reflection Applied to .NET assemblies is your friend when doing these things.

Hey Mitch. Do you know of a way to save settings in AudioRepeater so I dont have to reset all the settings everytime? They seem to have forgotten a save feature.![]()
