just another tip... if you are experiencing interference (which remember, PC's are notorious for RFI/EMI), you will have a much better result by sealing the source than trying to filter or hide the object that is receiving the interference.

in my case, i tried many things to isolate my antenna cables and radio box... but nothing really worked. i technically got it to sound ::better:: but not great. it wasn't until i sealed up my pc components that i eliminated the problem (at the source). definitely give that a try if you happen to have your computer parts unshielded.

Ok... I downloaded your RR files and followed directions. Ran the register file in main RR folder then went into HD radio. It would not register HDradiocom.dll or something like that. I tried this on both systems. The radio works but RR is now all messed up.

When I try to register the batch file labeled "Register" it says this

"HDRadioComm.dll was loaded, but the Dll Register server entry point not found" "This File cannot be registered"

Now my radio isn't working at all in RR. Works on the PCR still.

what batch file "register"? who the hell is com registering my dll!

define "downloaded your RR files" and where are you getting these

i could assume some, but youre for sure in wrong thread, but thats ok, ill prod you a bit

if your using my special RR build...

    try, "MJSG-RR-RunMe1st.cmd"

if youre not, look in the HDRadio Directory... "runme1st.cmd"

Would getting a small plastic case from radioshack and sticking the PSU in it help at all? Or does it have to be metal?

    yea metal, and grounded

you might not be able to eliminate it, which is then time to get rid of it
    maybe a different ps
switching supplies always make RFI, its unavoidable... but some are just sloppy, and make tons of noise

hmm i seem to be having an issue where on the initial start of the HDradio program (both in RR and standalone, where the output of the visteon is EXTREMELY loud, making my clipping indicatiors of my sound card go on and of course the sound is distorted...

however, after switching to another station, the volume returns to normal and the stations come in clear. does anyone else have this problem?

which is your version? im using the newest stable RR release (before the weather fix) with the newest version of the LSX skin. This not only happens in RR but also your HDR program. The gain on the outputs are set way high distorting the sound during initial power on. But, after you change stations, it goes back to proper levels and there is no issue. It seems like when it first initializes theres something that makes it too loud then corrects it after a command is sent to it.

The same thing happens both on my bench setup and in the car. On my bench setup i tried doing the grounding thing (it wasnt distorting at the time either) with no change in sound.
