Hi,
I am reading on this magnificent forum for about a year now and it helped me a lot to work on my Car PC.
But now I ran into a problem, for which did not find any clues:
Recently, I got the Visteon HD-radio and the cable from Mitch.
The HDR application works fine, even in Europe.
But the radio gives some strange behavior in Roadrunner.
I think, I did the right installation steps:
* installed .net 2.0
* checked that only one hdradiocomm.dll is present
* runme1st in hdradio directory
* changed rr.ini: hdradioport=1 and radiomode=1
When I select the radio skin, I hear a click in the radio module.
But when I want to change the radio frequency, going up it freezes at 87.0 MHz and running down at 107.0 MHz it jumps to 87.0 MHz.
There is no sound or noise.
Can someone give me a hint where or what to look for?
Thanks.
PM. If this question is posted in the wrong thread, please adapt.
radiomode=8
yea.. wrong thread too
you should switch to my build of RR too...
(over in the RR forums)

Thanks Mitch.
I mistyped the radiomode number, it was already radiomode=8.
BTW, the next post will be in the RR forum.
I've updated RR with your 2008-08-22 version.
The good news first: the frequency display is behaving normal and the on/off switching of the module is much faster.
But, I still don't hear any sound.The output of the HD radio is going to a seperate amplifier, so there are no WinAmp settings into play here.
Could there be an engaged mute function? Or could you give me other hints?
-Thanks

Mitch,
I found it.
My computer was set to Dutch notation. This means that decimal numbers are shown with a comma, where the US notation uses a period. Probably, this notation is also used to communicate to the HDradio module.
Apparently, this why it is called a US system
Simply switching the country code did the job.
But, there still something work on...
* Scanning does not work (yet). Is there a command like SeekAllForward and SeekAllBackward as your PCR application uses?
* Setting allowallfreq=true gives access to the even center frequencies as we also apply in Europe. Only, the rounded xxx.0 frequencies are skipped when tuning. Why?
* I do see that RDS data is transferred via COM port. But is not visible in RR.
Anyway, this day brought me some important success.
jev8, rds data is avail in RR, its on the skin design
scanning?
scan and seek are two different things
and seekall is avail, (i think)
jump over to the rr forum, just released new code today
i dont know what allowallfreq does
the tuner really is made for america! it will perfer xxx.1 specially when it wraps
it might have a option to switch it to euro, but i know know how
